I read this when it came out and I found it to be much drier than Ed's usual books. The plot was confusing and convoluted and less interesting then the first two.
Could someone who thoroughly understood the book please give me the tl;dr, adhd version of the plot with spoilers included? |

I too had 'issues' with many of the things Mr. Greenwood wrote in this novel. Most of which have been pointed out or questioned already, so I'll not repeat them, but will stay attuned to this thread instead, in the hopes of future enlightenment.
I've been thus far, sorely dissapointed with post Spellplague realms, to the point that I've mostly stopped buying the novels.
Ed Greenwood's being not the only but most notable exception.
I still... just can't wrap my mind around why they'd do that to the realms. Shooting self in foot, comes to mind when I think of it.
More on topic... despite the aforementioned oddities, I smiled a lot, laughed out loud a few times, and genuinely enjoyed the novel. Mr. Greenwood's brand of humor and wit, definitely tweak my geek meter.
A big thanks to him for his continued writing... this reader is appreciative. :)

| So with Mystra returned, is the Weave back? I'm curious as to what the average mage would feel when warp-core err the Weave or Mystra was turned back on. In some of the post-plague books I've read, there are references to old spellbooks and how they have to be retooled or adapted to the way magic now works. Do they all work again you think? |
