Hello all, I hope to find you all well and good in this new year. Here is a brief list of my FR loves and loathes: love the novels, love the computer games, loathe the fact that I don't know anyone who plays D+D where i live

Well met Valdar Oakensong and welcome to Candlekeep
Much knowledge and Realmslore can be found within these walls, and also...you may find other adventurers like yourself none too far for you to join with. I wish you look with your search and hope you enjoy your stay in the library. |

Greetings to you Valdar Oakensong .
I am the Sage, a master of Realmslore here in this library we call Candlekeep.
I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for while within these halls.
Oh and Alaundo, I not sure how much gain Valdar will have with 'look'...I think 'luck' was what you had meant to say...

Welcome Valdar
I know what you mean, D&D players are hard to find. In fact, youre probably closest to me in the UK
Enjoy your stay |

Actually for the last year or so, there has been a dramatic surge in the interest of D&D here in Australia. Sales of D&D and related gaming materials are hitting record highs, so much so, that the first shipments of materials from the US are now normally sold out before they even reach our shores...

Hail Valdar Oakensong! Welcome to candlekeep! Perhaps we should arrange for all of the U.K. members of Candlekeep to meet up one weekend in the summer for a game- Perhaps hire out a hotel with a bar . Any way Valdar I hope that you enjoy yourself in Candlekeep, and find the answers that you are searching for! Hanx Elrond |
Once upon a midnight dreary, while i pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore- While i nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. -The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe |

Hmm, I wonder how many CK scribes come from the USA, the majority seem to be European.... |

Thanks for the welcome, a 2 hour drive for a game of D+D is still a bit much for us mere mortals who have to work 40 hours a week...

Hello Valdar Oakensong. I am completely with you on your thoughts. I am sorry that no one near you plays D&D. I kinda have the same problem, well I mean I can find a few, but most the people that claim they know how to play D&D don't really know how to "play" D&D. Catch my drift? Do you have NeverWinter Nights? If so why don't we play on-line sometime. If not, well go BUY IT!!! :) you will like it. I am currently in the process of writing some new tie in modules that relate to the Forgotten Realms. Actually thats how I stumbled upon this website. I was doing research. I am brand new and as a matter of fact you are the first reply I have sent! Well keep playing and reading those novels. I am an RPG player for life my friend. -phunkadelic77 |

I was thinking the very same thing only the other week, Shadowlord. WotSQ should realise that they have such an audience outside of the U.S! |

NeverWinter Nights is my next purchase hopefully. Maybe Alaundo would allow someone to set up something inside Candlekeep, but then again all the noise might prevent some of the older scribes from falling asleep in their scrolls, sorry I meant reading their scrolls.

Heh, I'm an excellent player on NWN, though not much of a builder or DM. (Those who have the game know what I'm talking about.)
Was it just me, or could almost everyone else look right through Desther and see the traitor within? I mean, come on, all the NPC's were like "I can't believe it!" |
