If no-one replies on this forum, you could always try to post your request to the Realms-L. DM's and players alike sometimes post there to announce openings in a game or request a game.
I believe the WotC site has the details on how to subscribe to the list. You might want to check it out.
Overhearing some tavern-talk while serving drinks in the Running Stag in Berdusk, I retrieved the following information:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nb_pbem/ This is a 2e PBeM game set in the Forgotten Realms near about the area where Scardale lies - though I have perverted it for my own purposes to house the Haranshire Valley. The group is about halfway through the first book of this super module, and only time will tell how they will fare. Soon enough, the game will have new blood.

The best way to start is to visit the yahoo site to see if the game is still active. You'll find on that page a link to subsrcibe to the list. However, it is more polite to send a mail to the list owner (link is in the same section on the page as the subscribe-link), asking him/her if there are any vacancies for players.
