Greetings,

I seem to recall there was a very obscure name for the open lands between the Misty Forest and the Trollbark Forest.

I'm guessing if there was, it would have shown up on the FR Atlas (with all the patches), but I don't have access to that very easily anymore.

Anyone remember? And if you do, where did it come from?

The road is called "The Tradeway", but I don't see (or recall) a name for the plain (which has a small, unnamed forest in it). I think I have all the updates for the FRIA (but maybe not), and I also checked the Fonstad atlas.

Found it. "Open Marches". Not sure where the original reference came from (old gray box?), but I used in in City of Splendors: Waterdeep, page 11.

Yep.

I remember it distinctly, because the reference also includes a cool little tidbit about devils from Dragonspear running rampant in the region. That become the starting point for an awesome adventure back in the early 90's.

Very good, I'm running a campaign in Daggerford vicinities and never noticed it. Thank you for bringing it to light, Mr. Boyd. And Ed, of course, for making the Realms so complete.
