Maybe... his portrayal of Hagrid was pretty intimidating, tho... |
Playing in the Realms since the Old Grey Box (1987)... and *still* having fun with material published before 2008, despite the NDA'd lore.
If it's comparable in power with non-magical abilities, it's not magic. |

I guess it comes with the character, not the actor himself. There are hardly any moments when he was irate. Most of the time he just acted like an innocent (on the verge of being stupid) caretaker, minding nothing but his animals. |

Maybe paint Kevin Sorbo blue so he can play Drizzt? [mwoohaha] |

Isn't he too muscled for Drizzt (who's rather lean, or so I think)? |

Well, Drizzt's stats suggest he's a bit on the muscly side, insofar as slender-build elves go. Kevin Sorbo has a habit of accentuating his aging bulk by constantly surrounding himself with younger and younger women. And there's always CGI.
William Shatner = Mirt? |

Well, it would save them a great deal of money if they resort to "natural build" than CGI.
William Shatner...could be.
Who would give voice to Larloch?

Larloch's voice? Vincent Price, of course. Uh, in a special undead cameo. |

I was thinkin' Jack Nicholson for Vangerdahast. He seems like an adequately sly devilish bastard to me.
Dom DeLuise just doesn't seem manly or serious enough to be Mirt ... but I imagine plump old William Shatner stuffed into his Starfleet Academy chainmail and screaming redfaced spittle about Khan would be very Mirt-like. Dom DeLuise might make a good Bruenor, might as well, dwarves are just treated as comedic props anyhow.
I think Sean Connery, butler-assassin-priest-brooder, would make a fine Erevis Cale. |

On Connery, I'm inclined to agree.
Robert de Niro would be a fine captain. Perhaps that one in The Pirate King. (What's the name?) |

I dunno, maybe it's in the sound of his name... Like someone scrawny and malnourished. The name really doesn't inspire a tough guy aura. But at least his last name does. |

I picture the Entreri actor as someone a little more dark and brooding than Ryan Gosling. Gosling's eyes lack the necessary strength IMHO. |

Matt Damon...Bareris Anskuld. The guy can actually sing. And given the diversity of his roles in his two-decade career, being (Bareris) romantic, then later brooding and bitter is something he can pull off easily. |

Billy Joel as Volo.
Christopher Walkin as any senior Harpell
Will Smith as Drizzt
Steve Tyler as some Green Elf King... or a lich.
Then we can cast Mick Jagger as larloch
Just for laughs, David Bowie as Obould (get it?), but James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) would actually work better.
We are doing a musical now, right? |

Will Smith? For real?
I suppose if we're going to list no-talent hacks then we can cast The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) as Wulfgur, Rob Schnieder as Bruenor, Ben Stiller as Rivalen, Owen Wilson as Brennus, and Adam Sandler as Szass Tam. Hurts, doesn't it? |

Agree 100%, can't stand any of those actors. Rob Schnieder as Bruenor DID make me laugh though. Deuce Bigalo to the King of Mithril Hall! |

Its a bit harsh to call Will Smith a no talent hack(look at Pursuit of Happiness).Though the Rock will never win the Oscar you dont need to be an actor of the caliber of Clint Eastwood to play Wulfgar, you need to be a big strong guy who can throw an Ogre through a window. And most of all you need presence which the Rock has in spades. |

Actually I wouldn't want the Rock to play Wulfgar, I mean Ol Wulfie is already a rather hammy character, having a hammy actor to portray him would turn him to into a ridiculously over the top slab of ham |

You forgot Chuck Norris to play Telamont.
Though I wouldn't call Will Smith a no-talent. His performance in A Pursuit of Happiness is Oscar-caliber. |
