So the last sentence on the bottom left hand of page 138 states that all of the dead snows adventures can be scaled down to fit your party and to see the sidebar "Scaling the Adventure" for more details...but there is no sidebar! Or am I just overlooking it?

It wouldn't be the first time there was a mistake in a sourcebook... Some of the more notable ones include art showing Alustriel having brown hair, artwork of a warforged in the Grand History, and my personal fave, the month of Ukta in the Player's Guide to Faerūn.

I'm vaguely recalling a discussion about this exact issue over on the Wizards' boards back in 2003. The explanation, at the time, was that it was mistakenly cut out during the editing process.

Bummer, I'm not too keen on scaling things down myself. Guess I'll figure it out :p

There was also much confusion over the content related to RAS's characters, such as the timing of the re-finding vs. the re-conquest of Mithral Hall, whether Bruenor was still missing an eye, exactly which eye had been missing at all, Belwar Dissengulp residing in the Hall after the fall of Blingdenstone (even though elsewhere we were told that Krieger had been the highest-ranking gnome to have escaped the town), etc. And the entire "The Hunter's Blades Trilogy" takes place within the time period covered by the sourcebook, but they don't mention it, one bit. It's never disclosed exactly how Bruenor was supposed to still be King of Mithral Hall and representing the Hall with the Alliance of Silverymoon/Luruar/ League of the Silver Marches when he had abdicated the throne to King Gandalug Battlehammer in early 1359 DR and had been residing in Icewind Dale since 1364 DR (Passage to Dawn), went off adventuring with the Crystal Shard in 1365 DR (The Silent Blade), and then went looking for his wayward son Wulfgar all along the Sword Coast North sometime between 1369 & 1371 DR (Sea of Swords). These are not exactly typographical errors, but rather continuity ones, but the end result is the same.

Fortunately, most of them can be readily explained away, without too much fuss.

A quick way to upscale/downscale by +/-1 CR is to give critters +/-2 on all rolls (including damage rolls) and special ability DCs and +/-2 hp/HD.

Page 170. There's one entry for the month of Uktar, and three for the month of Ukta.
