My favorite is "Heart is worth more than all the gold in Faerun" - Othorion Keove in Cormyr: A Novel by Jeff Grubb & Ed Greenwood

Also, the "The kiss lasted quite a while and everyone could hear Jaquor Silver swallowing ..." same book, the goodbye between Alea and Baerauble

Were I to dig deeper, I'd surely find something more.

What are the quotes you remember best from FR books?

SiNafay Vrinn, the daughter of Lloth, from Ched Nasad!

Not sure if the quote is exact (am away from my books), but I've always loved this one from The Crystal Shard.

Biggrin the Giant: "That was not fair."
Drizzt: "Where in the Nine Hells did you get the notion I would fight fairly?"

"Raidon Kane dashed through the market throng, swatting a fat man from his path. The man fell, his arms windmilling, into a fruit seller’s cart. One hand knocked out the bottom row of a perfectly stacked display of red fruit, causing an apple-lanche." - Bruce Cordell, Stardeep.

Any quote that uses apple-lanche is awesome in my opinion.

"People won't like that," Lallara said. "We Thayans put the dead to use in a way that less sophisticated peoples don't, but that doesn't mean the average person likes the things or wants to see his sweet old granny shuffling around as a zombie." She gave the lich a mocking smile. "No offense."

"None taken," Szass Tam replied blandly.

Great quote! I'm not the most cynical person in the world but, with the world we live in today, I can readily relate to Artemis Entreri in that regard.

"The way of a mage is a dark and lonely one. This is why so many wizards fall early into the darkness of the grave—or later into the endless twilight of undeath. Such bright prospects are why the road to mastery of magecraft is always such a crowded one."

My favourites are from Entreri:

Ellery: "We will not be caught by surprise."
Entreri: "Almost everyone I've killed uttered similar last words."
Jarlaxle: "Then I am glad once again that you are on my side."
Entreri: "They've often said that too."

"And on the pedestal these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works ye Mighty, and despair!" - Percy Shelley

"The most awesome thing a wizard can hope to see in a lifetime of hurling down towers, calling up fiends, and turning rivers into new beds? Why, the blue flame, lad. If ever ye see the blue flame, ye will have looked on the most awesome sight a mage can behold— and the most beautiful."

The following is quite simple yet I like it for its sheer universality.

"Choosing what road to walk in life is a luxury given to few in Faerun. Perhaps lack of practice is why so many who do have that choice make such a gods-cursed mess of it."

I feel like I need to throw in a couple Elminster quotes, or some sort of a nod to Khelben's "indeed," and I know I've heard Szass Tam say something I thought was memorable (excpet I seem to have forgotten it). But Entreri gets the distinction of being one of my all-time favorite fictional characters (and that's counting non-book fictional characters).

So we've got the awesomeness that was Entreri and Rassiter in The Halfling's Gem, can't remember the exact line and I lent the book to someone. Something about Rassiter saying they could do great things together, there being two problems with that "one, I work alone and two," [stabs ratman] "you're dead."

Or,
Jarlaxle: Why the foul mood, my friend?
Entreri: Personality trait.

"It may be that Szass Tam would offer us terms," Samas said.

Lallara laughed. "Now that his victory is at hand? He'd butcher you and feed your bloated carcass to his ghouls before you could even blink."
