Moderators at Candlekeep frequently Seal scrolls for reasons which are mysterious at best, dubious at worst.
They are only human, so are of course prone to make mistakes in judgment.
Has a scroll that you have participated in been Sealed, prior to you having your say?
Tell the Mods when you wish to have a Seal revoked. The only way that the Mods can grow, and hence better serve the 'Keep, is by letting them know where and when they err.
**Mods** How about putting some adhesive on this scroll?

While I'm not one to look for trouble on the boards nor reply to troll-prone scrolls such as this, the scroll your no doubt referring to got out of line and out of hand. This discussion probably should've been handled via PM and not remade to go over, yet again, reasons for the Mods doing their job.
And while I agreed with you on the scroll to which this was one was constructed for, I don't condone calling them out in this manner.

And whose fault was it? *points at the OP* So yeah. He trolled my scroll and now he's doing it again. And Mods are "dealing with it", as Sage said. all I can say is that they don't deal with it good enough. This scroll is the proof. |

Do you mean me?
All I had to do was read the last page of that scroll to see it was getting out of hand. I was kidding when I said This scroll isn't sealed yet? . Hence the towards the bottom of the post.
I am not a mod, but it was my way of saying hey guys could you calm down and be a little nicer to one another. Just trying to be a responsible scribe. I guess Sage agreed with me that it should be sealed. I don't like it when scrolls are sealed. Just respect one anothers opinions.
This is my last post in this scroll so have a nice day... |

Oops guess I should have quoted the OP.
Now this should be my last post in this scroll.
Play nice folks... |

It's only dubious and mysterious to you. And it's ironic that you want to criticize us and yet ask us for a favor at the same time.
I invite anyone that has issues with myself or the Sage to take it up with us, via PM, or with Big Al.
In the meantime, I see nothing productive coming out of this scroll. It's not getting stickied, it's getting sealed. |

Only to you, apparently. The almost-daily private messages I receive from other concerned scribes about the conduct of a number of antagonists in discussions here at Candlekeep, suggests otherwise.
Oh, and I draw issue with your "frequently" remark. First, define your frequency, and then put forth your view. Because if this were actually true, then I'm sure either Wooly or myself, or Alaundo, would've realised such an increased frequency of sealing scrolls and made note of it.
And I find it highly unusual that you would make the claim that scrolls are sealed for mysterious reasons, when you yourself have acknowledged and understood our explanations in the past during private exchanges on the need for sealing a particular scroll, even when you haven't agreed with them. It seems you've something of a tendency to say one thing in private, and completely another in public.

It's curious that you can recognise this facility of others, and yet, cannot realise it about yourself.

I've no issue with scribes querying why a particular scroll was sealed. And I've been in discussions with concerned scribes about this exact topic in the past. I hope I've always been open and honest about why a discussion may have to be, or since has been, sealed. And I try to ensure, much like Wooly I suspect, that our views on how and why a certain scroll was sealed, are delivered with clarity to ensure that concerned scribes come to understand the necessity of either a temporary or permanent sealing.
What I don't appreciate, however, is my conduct as a Moderator being called into question -- and for no other reason than the ruffling of personal feathers. And airing this grievance, especially publicly, is quite disturbing. This is, at its heart, a call-to-arms to rally against the established Code of Conduct of Candlekeep. A sound and legitimate policy every single scribe, including yourself, agreed to when you registered.
If you're still so inclined to address this issue with me, Saer, then I ask that you contact me via ethereal mail, so we can discuss it further.
Thank you. |
