Do you prefer FR books written by male authors or female authors? And why? Which ones are better?

There really is no 'Better'. Only good stories... |

The author's gender doesn't matter to me. Though most of the fantasy books I read are written by males, and that's because there seems to be more male fantasy authors than females. |

Doesn't matter. I've read plenty of books with well written characters of the writer's opposite gender. What matters is whether the writer is good at writing characters or not. |
There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist. Terry Pratchett |

When I'm reading a Realms novel, I'm concerning myself with its content -- characters, plot, setting, and so forth -- not the gender of the author involved in writing it.

Indeed -- though I'd apply that rule to any novel I read. Any details about the author are irrelevant to me. In fact, for me, authors are pretty much an afterthought. There's only a few authors that can sell me a book by putting their name on it, so for the rest, their name is a point of reference, and that's about it.
There are a few exceptions to that rule, but only a few.

There is just a few female fantasy authors that I like, and I'm in no hurry to search for new ones. Most of them were a waste of time. |

Doesn't matter to me. Some are great and some not so much of either gender. |

It's all about the story for me. Gender has no bearing. |
