Having finally finished the Bourne trilogy, I'm now reading Master of Devils, by our own Dave Gross. It's obvious the author is a fan of kung fu flicks (and/or anime), because parts of the book read like a kung fu movie. Not so much Flying People, Hidden Wires, but with different forms of combat using a wide variety of techniques -- some of which are unexpected and unorthodox. It's quite a fun read, and I'm enjoying it more than I did his previous tale, Plague of Wolves.

I'm so far behind in my reading of the PATHFINDER novels. Of course, it's compounded by that fact that they've each endured terrible release schedules back in Australia. I only just managed to grab a copy og Plague of Shadows last week.

If you had a subscription, you could get the ebook for free. And that's available as soon as the novel ships from Paizo.

I'm definitely reconsidering the viability of a PATHFINDER subscription, especially given the delayed release schedule for Australia. I'll look in to it further once I'm back from holidaying.

I finished it yesterday. I will write a review soon.

I read the short story Serpentsong. It was an interesting look at Bareris's early adventures, his life before he returned to Bezantur. It was revealed in this short work where he got the idea of using that kind of spell he cast against the Dream Vestige in Undead.

Just finished reading "Volo's Guilde to the Dalelands" for the third or fourth time. Next I am going to start reading "The Swords of Eveningstar", I bought it awhile ago but left it at a friend's place when I went to visit him so I will start fresh and read it all over again.

Currently re-reading Undead, Book II of The Haunted Lands Trilogy by Richard Lee Byers. It's here where we can see Thay begin its massive, horrifying transformation.

The more I read your posts about this series, the more I want to put down what I am reading and jump into it feet first.

Ah yes the begining of the grand transformation. Then the next book begins with everything fully transformed. I would have like to have seen the entire process

By all means do. You will never regret it.

On a not so different note, I've convinced a friend today to read the trilogy. It's his first foray into the Realms. I know it's not an ideal "introductory" FR novel, as it alludes to so many established lore, but it's one of the best so I didn't hesitate to recommend it.

We have to understand the page limit imposed on the author. He would no doubt expound that transformation to our hearts' content if he were given bigger page limit.

I am also reading Draconian Measures by J.C. Owens. A winged warrior and a vampire mage. Hardly new, but the story is quite engaging.

I think I am going to have to check that out. I haven't bought a Realms novel since the Spellplague hit, but hearing about Thay getting a dose of its own evil is definitely making me want to jump back into the novels again.

Not sure if this is right place to post this or not but here goes anyways. I was re-organizing my bookshelf last night and got to really looking at what all Realms novels I've bought but haven't read yet. Then I got to looking at the ones I have read. Then I realized that I've read quite a few that I don't even have at all. So here's my tally marks:

Realms novels that I've bought: 52
Realms novels that I've read & own: 32
Realms novels that I've read & don't own: 9
Realms novels that I own & haven't read yet: 20
and for all related purposes-
Realms novels that my buddy let me borrow with "Must Read" instructions: 15

and those are just Realms novels!! Which gives me less than a week per series/trilogy if I plan on finishing these by 12/31/11...which I don't think is gonna happen, lol. But I thought I'd share b/c I thought it was funny.

I just started Shadows of Doom Book one of the Shadow of the Avatar series. I am not very far into the book but so far I am loving how fast the book is pulling me in. Usually I have a hard time starting books because they cant keep my attention but I started reading and before i knew it I was 80 pages in!

I wrote a review on Unclean and posted it in the Novels Section. You might be interested to check it out. Just be warned of some [minor] spoilers.

Once I finish re-reading Undead, I will also write a review on it.

Just finished Shadowstorm and starting Shadowrealm. I enjoyed Shadowstorm but would have preferred more Cale/Riven page-time. :)

I loved that series. How I wish the guys from WotC change their minds and move the release of Godborn [sequel to The Twilight War] to an earlier date.

Indeed. I usually like psionicists, almost as much as wizards, but he's one of the few exceptions.

I love pscionicists in general, but his character annoys me. SPOILER: I understand that having your soul torn apart and consumed by an archdevil can ruin your day, but his constant whining about it just bothers me so far. I am about 200 pages in to Shadowrealm so am curious to see what happens with that.

I couldn't count the times when I wished Mags died instead of Jakk. Maybe Cale would have been less brooding.

I'm going to finish Shadowrealm today, and the ending looks epic. I have about 40 pages to go and it's been fantastic so far. When is the follow-up book scheduled for release??

Given that Paul had problems with WotC that nearly led to the cancellation of his future books, I guess we should be thankful that he's able to continue writing FR novels. But you're right. What a long wait indeed.
