Hello everyone, I had a few questions on Cormyr, I was hoping that the wise ones here could have some answers for me.

#1- I noticed in the 2nd edition of the campaign set, and other sources (Cormyr, Volo's guide and FR adventures), that Suzail has apopulation of 129,000. HOwever, in the 3rd edition of campaign set, it is down to 45-55k. Does anyone know why it dropped so much?

#2- In regards to 4E cormyr, does anyone know what the status of these cities are?

Pros, Ilipur, Priapurl, Proskur, Teziir, Easting, Eversult, Reddansyr.

I have read the timeline, and it appears that Pros and Ilipur was annexed by vote of the people of Pros and Ilipur, and that Proskur was 'taken' over by Cormyr because they had too many thieves or what not. I've read that Cormyr controls everything from Easting to Westgate, and that it's southern borders extends down to Giant's Run Mountains. Does Gilthmere FOrest fall under Corymr rule or no? (And if this is the case, does Cedarspoke?. I noticed also that Cormyr has also annexed High Dale, and now has a presence in the Tunlands at Maloren's rest?

Thanks for the great answers.

Granted, this is a guess, but I would say it has much to do with the Time of Troubles and the horrific alterations to the world involved with such.

Just read the article about Cormyr on the Forgotten Realms wiki, and I'd also suggest the Goblin Wars in 1371 DR had something to do with the population change.

From a meta-gaming standpoint, the population changed simply because the world got smaller. They shrunk the maps, and reduced the populations accordingly.

I, myself have been trying to dig-up info on 4e cormyr, and was very disappointed that no new information was offered by the 4e Cormyr article, aside from a few new NPCs and some mechanics. Nothing at all has been covered about the annexed lands, or even the two cities Cormyr lost during the "era of tears".

I had asked a few questions in another thread and received very little help (probably because the info simply isn't there). I understand some new Cormyr info will be forthcoming in August, so we can hope some of these questions will get answered then.
