I shall greet the day and ask "Day, have you been made?" and it will return in answer "Yes, I rather think I have been."
Thank you Mrs Cunningham, you have made a daft fan very happy. |

HUGE fan of Elaith's (and I absolutely HATED his published statistics of being equal parts wizard/fighter... to me he was a sick warrior to the core) so I will definitely pick this one up. Good to hear. |

Elaine, do you know if we'll get any reprints of your prior books, at the same time? I'm thinking it's not likely, but one can always hope...
It has been mentioned as a possibility, but more than that I don't know. When I get news (and the okay to pass it on), you'll hear it here first.
That's hopeful news, because I'd really like to replace my well-worn copy of Elfshadow.
Hah! You should see mine! The cover is gone (not that I liked the way Danilo looked on it anyway-too chubby!) and the pages are warped and yellow from getting wet at some point. Had it for over a decade. |

Yeah, that portrayal doesn't fit my mental image of Danilo, either. From what I hear, the artist (Fred Fields) used one of the TSR cartographers as a model. |

I did however like the depiction of Arilyn. Was her portrayal similar to your mental image?
On that note, what do you picture Danilo to look like? Is there a fairly accurate depiction of him somewhere or does he resemble any celebrity or public figure? Just curious. |

The star, silver and gold elves are now (in 4e) called "eladrin", and the other subraces are simply called "elves". I think the divisions between gold and silver still exist, but they are more an appearance and culture classification than a true racial distinction.
Are dark elves considered "eladrin"? |

Which dark? The converted ones are AFAIR "elves", the Lloth worshippers are still "drow". |

The converted ones, I do not know anything about them after the events of Ascendancy of the Last. |

Thank you for your answer! As I had hoped, she does have a subracial designation, although I have to admit that fact that it may not be as prominent as before saddens me somewhat.
I say that because I was one of the people who queried the designers on, and subsequently posted on the WotC boards somewhat obsessionally about, the possible loss of the subracial language.
Although cheeky in the extreme, might I humbly beg for you to be as sneaky as possible and slip in as many references as you can? You would make a daft fan very happy .
Just thought of a good place for a gold/moon elf reference....
::snickers with glee, wanders off to revise....::
The way I look at is like this, gold elves and moon elves are still gold elves and moon elves, only they are subgroups of this new fangled "eladrin" race. And refering to them as eladrins only matters in the realm of gaming, such as creating statistics for such a character, but not in a lore or novel aspect. Coke and Pepsi are both types of soda, but you still usually call them by their respective individual names when refering to them.
Basically it boils down to that I would rather she be called a gold elf througout most of the book, with a passing reference made that gold elves are also eladrin, rather than the other way around. But then again I'm old school. |

Thats what Eldritch Knights are for my friend. I have him statted up somewhere as a Fighter 2/Wizard 6/Eldritch Knight 6. While this is a little behind the straight combat ability of an equal level figher, that fighter doesnt have access to up to 6th level spells (which more than compensates) in which to buff himself, like the Serpent would, before wading into melee. And this is always how I've seen Elaith, utilizing all his resources to the best of his capacity. |

Has anyone had any word on this book? It seems to have fallen off the map again with no listings for a release date anyone or word about it. Please tell me this doesn't become another "Reclaimation". |

Say not such things. I have been unnaturally patient waiting for this book.
edit: The fact that I can find nothing more current that June of last year at Elaine's own site is very discouraging. |

Noooo! No eBook... We gotta have a nice paperback or heck, it SHOULD be a Hardback. I'd be willing instantly to pay full price for it!
I miss your work Elaine. :( Let us know when you find out whats up... if WoTC messes with you, I may boycott Forgotten Realms.. That would mean its not the friendly TSR era it used to be.. (I know, it isn't NOW, but still, pieces of that family feel are still there i hope). |

Thanks for the kind words, Ziroc. I assure you, WotC is not "messing with me," and I have no complaints.
As I've mentioned before in this thread, I really can't talk about this right now, but when I can, I will. |

I am near to bursting here. I know this is an old topic and I know it has been asked, but it has been over a year since we asked last and over 3 years since the book was announced.
Rather than continue to hope with no information and get progressively more bitter at WOTC, someone MUST have an idea of why we never got this.....
