SPOILERS FOR THE GHOST KING!

Here are some quotes from the Ghost King:

“Don’t ye be pretendin’ that ye care about me girl!” Bruenor shouted, and Jarlaxle retreated a step.
Drizzt saw something then, though Bruenor was too upset to catch it. True pain flashed in Jarlaxle’s dark eyes; he did care.

“Find her!” Drizzt begged, against all logic, for he knew where the woman lay, still and cold. “You must find her! I’ll do anything you demand … all the riches in the world!”
“Mithral Hall and everything in it!” Bruenor yelled.
Jarlaxle tried to calm the ranger and Bruenor. He nodded and he patted Drizzt’s shoulder, though of course he had no idea where to begin, or what precisely he would be looking for—Catti-brie’s soul?
Their promises of fealty and riches rang strangely discordant to Jarlaxle at that moment. He would find her, or would try, at least. Of that, he had no doubt.
But to Jarlaxle’s surprise, he had no intention of taking a copper for his efforts, and wanted no promise of fealty from Drizzt Do’Urden. Maybe something else compelled him then.

What do you think? What does he feel for her? Does Jarlaxle love Catti-brie? If so then why?

I did not read the Road of the Patriarch, so I don't know if he used the flute the Artemis used. By the way, please, make it in the post name that it contains spoilers. Other fans, who are still reading can be shocked.

Well, I've changed it. Is that good enough?
I didn't want to shock anybody, I just thought that people, who gather here, already have read the Ghost King, cos it is not a very new book.

Good enough.
Not all guys here are influenced by Drizzt. There are many other newbies, who only recently met with him, so please, don't break their dreams or hopes. It is my job.

Rather see it as Jarlaxle caring for Drizzt...which includes his friends and family....

Yeah I didn't see it as much as Jarlaxle being "in love with" Catti-brie as much as him just caring for her well being in general as he would for Dizzt or possibly other companions of Drizzt's. Like one of those he is a much better person than he puts off or than people think kind of way. Etc.
