Can anyone tell me if there are any sourcebooks based before this date?

In addition. Were the city-states of Assam, Lheshayl, and so on already in the process of being established upon the Shining Plains by 1272 DR?

Not sourcebooks, but I seem to recall the original Icewind Dale pc game was set in 1272.
