Well met, fellow scribes! I have a request for help with some lore, specifically about House Extaminos of Hlondeth. According to 2e sources (Vilhon Reach) and the 3e FRCS, Hlondeth in the 1370s is Dediana Extaminos. Her son, Dmetrio (or Dmetiro alternately), both leads the local Cult of the Dragon and is wooing the daughter of the baron of Sespech (and taking his time at it, I guess!), part of his plans to get rid of his mother.

What I'd like to know is if we have any idea what was going on in 1357-8 or so. In particular, when was Dmetrio born? Could he have been a player in the region then? (Or do I need to leave canon material for that?) Background: I have a party of adventurers from Erlkazar heading to Hlondeth to investigate who might be providing support to goblinoid insurgents from the Cloven and Snowflake Mountains in late 1357/early 1358. My idea is to have Dmetrio (or substitute) doing this without instructions, so it's a little of a mystery. Is there anything in the lore to help me out with characters and plots?

Thanks in advance!

Serpent Kingdoms has a bit on House Extaaminos, but I don't think anything touching on what you want. I'm AFB right now, though and could be wrong?

You might also try Champions of Ruin. The Extaminaar is a race that came from that family, and it might have a little more info on the history of the family in the race's description.

There is also some information on House Extaminos in the description of the Cathedral of Emerald Scales included in Power and Pantheons.

There's also Lisa's Smedman's House of Serpents trilogy.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Exactly!

I read it some few years ago but I recall that it touched on the House more than once. It is too far back for me though to remember anything of detail.

However, if you are looking for that trilogy look fopr the following books: Venom's Taste, Viper's Kiss & Vanity's Blood.
