For those scribes who celebrate Christmas, either religiously, or, as in my case, secularly, may I wish a very merry Christmas. I hope there is snow on the ground where you are, enough to be pretty, but not enough to cause trouble.

Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

Heh. I'll return such wishes to all scribes. I work in retail merchandising, specifically in the consumer electronics industry, and today is my first *real* day off since late November. I had weekends, and Christmas Day, but the latter is not a relaxing holiday when you live under the same roof as three young children and their exhausted parents. And the less said about the two days after, the better... for American readers, the day after Christmas in Canada is like the day after American Thanksgiving: Pure. Shopping. Insanity. This year, because of the weekend, it was a two-day sale. Hence the reason for my recently-ended month-long absence from the 'Keep.
No snow here since the week before Christmas, but I'll take that happily; I ride a bicycle to and from work, hopefully year-round; last winter I walked to work, which takes about an hour one-way.
Edit: To keep this scroll Realms-related, and thus appropriately placed, I was hoping for a Christmas gift resembling the Cormyr Lineage... but not realistically expecting it, of course. |
Playing in the Realms since the Old Grey Box (1987)... and *still* having fun with material published before 2008, despite the NDA'd lore.
If it's comparable in power with non-magical abilities, it's not magic. |

Welcome back and congratulations on surviving the insanity. The day after Christmas is crazy down here, too, second only to the day after Thanksgiving. I worked the season in retail (though for me it was a bookstore) two years ago, and it was insane. Working way too hard for not nearly enough money.
Hmm... Realms Christmas gift lists, huh? I guess mine would be Ed's original Spellfire. Which has even less chance of showing up than the lineage, unfortunately. |
