So I could swear I read that Waterdeep harbor had a statue somewhere but I can't remember where. I don't think it was one of the walking statues. I think it was just a statue. Can anyone confirm either way if there is or isn't one?

Rogue: So what's in the general store?
DM: What are you looking for?
Rogue: Whatevers in the store.
DM: Like what?
Rogue: Everything.
DM: There is a lot of stuff.
Rogue: Is there a cart outside?
DM: (rolls) Yes.
Rogue: We'll take it all, we may need it for the greater good.

Nothing about a big harbor statue leaps out of the book at me. Remember any other details?

I don't immediately recall anything like that from the sourcebooks. Was it, perhaps, something that was mentioned in a novel?

I just checked the drawing of Waterdeep from the City System box set, and it doesn't look like there are any statues near the docks, but most of the harbor wall isn't in the picture.

Could it be one of the Walking Statues?

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious
thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed
words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."

There's a stature literally in the harbor--on the bottom. It's pictured by George Barr in Knight of the Living Dead and mentioned among other notes on mermen patrols for the harbor, but I'm unsure if it's been illustrated or mapped since 1989.

Thanks Steven. I knew I had read something just didn't know what or where.
