Hello all,
I was wondering if there is a region in the Realms that is known for having red-haired human folk? I'm thinking particularly of the look of the stereotypical Scottish and Irish: red hair, pale skin and green eyes.
Cheers,

AFAIK, the Moonshaes are the Bitish Isles analoge of the realms. Other likely candidates for redhead populations are Cormyr and nearby regions, and mabye Rashemen. Not quoting any partiular realmslore here just making 'educated' guesses based on the distant real word inspiration for places.

One of the characters in my novel Ghostwalker is a red-haired human lass: Arya, who is of mixed Illuskan and Chondathan blood. I don't think that's particularly indicative of any particular region, however.
According to Races of Faerun, Illuskans tend to have blonde hair primarily, but red or brown secondarily (explaining Arya). Tethyrians vary widely in hair and eye color.
RoF doesn't say one way or the other about the Ffolk (who are essentially Tethyrian), but I seem to think blonde and redhead were the hair colors in vogue in the Moonshae trilogies (it's been a while since I read them).

Lantan. Copper-coloured hair (ie red), green or black eyes, and pale skin.
However, their skin is described as like parchment or old ivory, so I imagine an East Asian appearance, and personally I expect some gnomish and sea-elven blood, so they have a rather exotic appearance all over. Apart from the colour-scheme, they're about as far from Scots/Irish as you could get. :)

There are quite a few characters in the Dalelands and surrounding areas that are described as red-haired, Fzoul and the Shadowsil being two, so the people of those lands could fit.

Markus had a theory about a Celtic type of people in the Realms called Cortae, then they broke off into Talfiric and something else, don't remember ...
