I have been searching for a while looking for anything about this Tallasan order. All I have been able to find is that they are a highly secretive group of sages, necromancers, and various spellcasters bent on bringing about the end of the world. I could not find anything about their hierarchy, vestments, sigils or symbols of any kind.
If anyone knows anything that would be of any help, I would greatly appreciate it. I currently have a Tallasan wizard that I am trying to RP into becoming a member of said order, but I do not have enough information to properly conduct him as a potential member.
I know with the onlaught of 4ed, they have revealed that Talos is just an aspect of Gruumsh, but I refuse to play 4ed and am currently playing a 3.5ed Forgotten Realms MUD. So anything as current as 3.5ed (timeline is around 3-5 years before the resurrection of Bane) would be preferred, but any information will help me out as well.
Thanks.

I briefly used the Circle of Rust and the Worm in my last campaign. Whilst the divine spellcasters in the sect received power from Talos, there were other doom/death deities that were worshipped as well: Moander, Myrkul, Jergal etc. I had them as insane seekers of oblivion and entropy guided by apocryphal prophecies and such.
I placed a location I called the Tower of Rust in the mountains leading from Procalith into the Mhair Jungles (sorry I don't have my notes or books with me), and the Circle of the Worm that dwelt there included deathloks and a necromental.
The Tower guarded the only pass through the mountains from the ruins of Procalith into the jungles and the PCs followed one of the main antagonists of the campaign - Nerigeneia, the Medusa Queen - from the ruins to the tower where she gave orders to prevent the PCs from following her into the jungles. Cue fight through the tower and catacombs against necromantic doomsday cult. |

I just did a search of the "Circle of Rust and the Worm". Interesting. Never heard of the group before. Going to check it out more.
Thanks. |
