(Mods: I know this has little to do with FR in general, but I am attempting to write FR fiction for my games, so it is sort of relevant. And with the other current thread about writing for FR, I thought this the best place for it.)

Anyways, I need help. But not with my actual writing. Just the process of doing it.

Seriously, I ask these questions of all aspiring/official writers here at the CK boards. Where do you find the time to write? When do you like to write? Do you have a set time and duration put aside for each day for your writing activities? How do you fit your writing into a daily schedule that also includes work, family life, and other things, like hobbies for example?

I'm desperate for some assistance in this matter, because I'm finding that over the last few months, I've spent more time trying to find time to work on my book, than actually working on it.

Aspiring writer, me, and unemployed on top of it, so time shouldn't really be an issue, but it was for quite some time.

Note the past tense.

I have a ritual, get up, drink tea&watch sitcoms, go out for a cappucino or two & reading for about 2 hours, then back home, put on some music & write. The most important thing for me is to keep this schedule, to a degree. I always try to find the time to write at least a few pages a day, nominal goal is 5 pages, sometimes it's more, sometimes less.

As I said before, I'm unemployed and can plan my day without a day job hindering my creativity.

Think I put down more or something similar in my LJ, which might actually have some more thoughts on the topic, not sure tho

Mace's not so gentle gamer's journal My rants were harmless compared to this, beware!

I have the best wife in the world that gives me space to write in the evenings after work. I can also catch time during lunch as well as on public transit (bus) if I take it to work on a particular day. If you have some free time while at work, bring a notepad to jot down ideas that may flop into your noggin when you least expect it. You don't need to write complete sentences, just notes you can interpret later.

I hope this helps!
