Do anybody know anything about Veldorn besides what is written about it in the Shining South?

The names of any of it's cities or rulers? Climate and terrain conditions.

What is the typical architectural building styles found in Var the Golden and Mulhorand?

Also is there anything cool at Azulduth The Lake of Salt?

Aside from the sections in both Shining South references, there is a small bit about Veldorn as well as some information about Mulhorand architecture in Old Empires (on p.9 and p.33).

Ed Gentry's Neversfall takes place in the wilds of Veldorn.

Unfortunately, I've not had the opportunity to read it yet, though it's in one of my many "To-Read" stacks.

I'd suggest you look through the archives here at Candlekeep, for discussion scrolls about the novel. I recall there being scrolls for the Book Club edition of Neversfall as well, which you might find useful.

I have read it, and right up to the last chapter or two it's a good book. During the climatic battle the writer gets lazy, which was disappointing, since the rest of it was so good. Still, it's easily on the "good" side of the Realms novel continuum. Not as good as Sentinelspire in the same series, but miles above the awful Obsidian Ridge, for instance.

Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be...
Sigh... And now 4e as well.

Seconded. Of particular interest is the Realms (and Shining South specific) military lore one can pick up from that novel.

Do you own both the 2ed. and the 3ed. books about the Shining South?
