I have had quite the debate with my fellow party members about the two accient liches: Larloch and Ioulaum. Who the strongest of the two is and so forth.

My wote goes to Ioulaum, since he was not only the inventor of the Mythallar, but alså a lvl +40 arcanist. Laloch on the other hand is immune to magic, which gives him a preatty great advantage over all other spell casters of the realm.

So if a battle was to break out between them who would win. A magic immune lich or an undead elder brain with enormus psyonic power?

I leave it to my fellow scribes to comment!

Easy: Toril would lose. They both have enough magic to shatter the planet (Ed has confirmed this), so an all-out battle between them would leave everyone looking for a new planet to live on. It's similar to the question "Who would win in a nuclear war between the US and Russia?" Answer: no one.

Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be...
Sigh... And now 4e as well.

So... this being true (as I can confirm, having seen at least one supporting statement on these scrolls from Ed via THO), why didn't the entire planet explode during the Spellplague? Just one more example of contrived inconsistency in the 4E Realms... outside of Laerakond and Cormyr, that is.

Playing in the Realms since the Old Grey Box (1987)... and *still* having fun with material published before 2008, despite the NDA'd lore.

If it's comparable in power with non-magical abilities, it's not magic.

...And this is another of those X vs. Y threads, which among other things includes combat betwixt two folks who have no reason to fight each other. In fact, direct confrontation is not the style of either of these two individuals.

Since we very much discourage these kinds of threads, I'm sealing this one. Sorry!

And just as a addendum to Wooly's earlier post...

I'm presently working on a section of the revised Code of Conduct that'll elaborate on why these types of scrolls are generally a "no-no" here at Candlekeep.

Just thought I'd mention that.
