Well, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with this if you actually did have permission. Perhaps you could contact the artist involved and clear it with him/her?

That is highly uncalled for. Trying to make sure we aren't subject to a lawsuit is not flaming or being oppressive. 
I'm looking to make sure that all of us are protected. Some artists are quite particular and go out of their way to prevent unlicensed distribution. We just want to make sure that the artist isn't going to be mad about his/her artwork popping up everywhere. |

I've used WotC artwork in some of the projects I'm working on, but since I've only posted links to those covers at WotC, and they own whatever is posted there anyway, I've had no problems.
You'll note I haven't posted the covers to any projects here, because I know artwork obtained without permission is a no-no. 
I did find an illustrator to work with for my CKC articles, and she sent me some very nice stuff for my next article... too bad it never got used.
Maybe someday....
