Greetings fellow scribes and sages, this scroll is for ideas for the reclaimed ancient elven city. My players took serious the elven crusade and Seiveril's dream and joined up, the course of the crusade took over 10-12 sessions however the PCs are still obsessed with their final target and that is Myth Drannor. I am inspired of the cannon events and i am using some of the cannon NPCs, but thats all, the campaign is taking its own course. However the Conclusion will be quite the same, a fair piece of the ruins will be restored and the rest of the city could be explored over time. No doubt after the long campaign my PCs have plans to settle there, (at least for a time) it will be their homeland and their haven. They deserve it and i will try to build a colourfull living city for them to enjoy. That is the purpose of this scroll, to collect ideas to influence the city, be it buildings (from a simple tree house to a palace), roads, Temples, NPCs and anything else you can think to enchance the city. It doesnt have to be cannon, after all this is a brainstorming scroll. I thought at first start the process with a couple of buildings i thought (just to break the ice) but right now i am running out of time.
Let your World Building juices flaw! Long live Myth Drannor! Thanks in Advance!

The Shining Well
In a small plaza near the now reclaimed Sunblade street lies the Shining Well, it is made of pure crystal to reflects the rays of the sun, a myriad colours dance in the cool water inside the Well. From a bird's eye view it looks like a sparkling saphire, a masterpice that the most skilled jeweler would envy.
It is said the Well is bottomless, and it could provide the city with fresh water for eternity. Some days the water is still other days its has a sparkling taste, some days the water is sweet other days it has the scent of spring flowers. There is no way for anyone to descent into the Well or get drowned by its waters.
Both travelers and citizens alike visit the Well to quell their thirst, but there is another reason to visit the Well. Many an artist dwells in the plaza, the occasional bard, artists who make the finest portraits in Cormathor and dancers of the finest skill can be found performing beside the Well
Its water is a symbol of elven life, health and prosperity it is consider a small wonder in a city full of wonders. On a Shieldmeet many citizens make offerings to the Well, objects of art, and lucky charms the most common, humans with less fantasy toss coins into but its considered a kind of bad taste. Legend says that one who offered the most valuable gift will be granted a wish, however many has misunderstood the true meaning, tossing priceless gems and gold to get nothing in return.

Cave of Spirits
In a cave just under the bridge where the Oceanths stream crossed with Candledance street lies the Cave of Spirits. From its name the unwary may suspect that danger lies there and the adventurer may think of treasure and adventure. Both are wrong. Here the only spirits you can find are inside bottles.
Eleanor Aneauetil Is a retired half-elf adventurer (CG Bard4/Rog2) who enjoy jokes and singing about brave deeds both of his former adventuring career and other heroes of the past, he also has quite a sense of humour. He doent have many Elven features, he just passes as a very beautyfull human with elven grace. Blond with long hair and slender build and a melodic voice,he is for sure a talented bard. Eleanor has a passion of Elven myths and his study deep in the cave has a fine collection of Elven lore (yep, he downloaded them from Wotc downloads page. ahem) and many replicas of ancient elven music intruments. Some consider him a bit eccentric others a true artist.
The Cave of Spirits music hall, is not a ordinary tavern, only the finest spirits are served here, and the menu does not include any red meat. However a variety of mushrooms, cheese , exotic fruits and fresh fish from the stream will be served depending of the wine/spirit you ordered(you order only your drink). The cave is a quite place, the glow of cave mushrooms, some candles and illusions created by the bard lit the place, the tables are few, so the inviroment sould look as much natural as it gets (some tables are just flattened rocks) and the conversasions are rare and silent so the bard can perform. Its a place of art and relaxation, of music, ancient lore and good taste. The clients are regulars, since it is one of those "hidden places" to find in great cities, so no ignorant or troublemaker may appear here.
So welcome stranger have a seat beside that stalagmite, enjoy your Evermead along with sweet Needleeye Mushrooms(?) served with honey and fruits most exotic and hear the tale of an Elven city who fell only to be reborn... |
