For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Neato!
I absolutely loved Rifts back in the day. And The Mechanoids material too.
It's unfortunate that I missed the opportunity to purchase most of the originally printed books. But these PDFs will be a welcome addition to my gaming library.

Whereas I never played Rifts at all, so this is a new opportunity for me. The only Palladium stuff I ever played was the first TMMT, back in the Mesozoic.
This is cool for fans, for sure. Gotta wonder, though, how the writers of the individual pieces feel about it, given the well-publicized, y'know, "complexities" of Siembieda's relationships with some of the folks who produced this material. |
My Realms novel, Sandstorm, is now available for ordering. |

I never got into Rifts, but I did have one of the books. My then-roommate had Rift Pantheons, and I liked the different approaches to the various deities. I got a copy secondhand from Enterprise 1701 in Orlando, which was the best source I had for OOP game stuff, at the time. I'll definitely be picking up that pdf.
I do have to wonder if this was already planned, or if it was something rammed thru in response to WotC's maneuver. |
