Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

Later that same day the party see a strange sight, a couple of deer bearing a wooden log with an apparently unconscious elf hog tied to it. Swinging gently with each step. |

Whoa! Didn't expect to succeed with my abysmal tracking score (stinks not being a ranger).
In other news, I'm off at reunion all day. Won't be able to post until late tonight at the earliest. |

lol, just goes to show that having a proficiency in something useful is worth having even if its a low score one.
Just been reding my character again and i'm not sure if there is even a Thayvian dialect. Can anyone more knowledgable confirm this or not?
Also i'm seeing the beginnings of a character development arc, just gotta keep my eyes open to see if i can work this divine message into a change from revenge to justice.
PS if we get attacked by deer in the next part of our adventure i'm so gonna call copyright infringement lol |

Did I mention that the next adventure will be titled Crouching Dragon, Hidden Reindeer
Also, you don't have to change Keldon's personality or motivation if you don't want to. It's just Torm's way of trying to poach a follower with potential. And also a way to slip you a few more hp's. |

The FRCS, page 85, says they have a variant of Mulhorandi, which makes sense. And the alpha is Infernal.
Grin, and maybe those deer have been around Myth Drannor to much and corrupted by the mythal, like those rabbits that turned hunter and carnivore. :) |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Nah, those rabbits were an offshoot of the Harpells polymorphing Malarite clerics as a punishment.
And deer are dangerous! Look at the horns! |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Ah, our first battle. Which, of course, brings a totally new set of questions.
* How do you want us to roll initiative? * Are we using weapon speeds? * Do you want us to declare actions and then roll later, roll at the same time, etc? I guess I'm asking about order of operations.
Nagrath, for the record, is rolling/falling off his pony and likely charging the nearest kobold (K14), but I want to figure out how a combat round rolls out first.
edit: Oh, and is there a surprise round on either side? Do we need to roll, or did the two trackers realize what was happening in time? |

-For this first encounter, initiative will be simplified. I roll d10, and the first player who responds rolls a d10. In future combats we can mix things up with weapon speeds and so on.
-No need to declare actions first. Just determine what you want to do, roll for it, then post it all at once.
-Thanks to your successful tracking rolls, surprise was avoided. |

| Bleh, linking is a bit tricky for me right now. Sorry for all the edits to get the roll up there. Init should be up there. Rolled a 4. |

It took me some looking around to figure out linking too.
When taking link code from Invisible Castle such as:
1d20=11
just a quotation before "http" and at the end of the link, to get:
1d20=11 |

| Sorry to disappear at the start of a fight; reunion finished up with a party that didn't break up until 5 AM, and it was 6 before I got back. I'm conscious again, and ready to gut some kobolds. |

Hmm, I thought there was a critical hit system in Complete Fighter, but I just checked and it's actually a system for hitting specific parts of the body, which is close but not quite the same thing.
Also, since Nagrath's been looking around and everyone's been fighting multiple kobolds, can you tell us what they're armed with and what kind of armor they have? |

One quick question, if I may, please. Back when Valthorin gets the bow you said it was a longbow. On the campaign page you have it down as a shortbow. May I please ask which it is so I can modify my character sheet accordingly? I know how easy it is to put down the wrong thing somewhere, believe me! |
