just reading the rite which is set in 1373.just wonderin if this is set after road of the patriarch which he is also in.

I'd say after. If you go by the Drizzt journal entries in RotP, it takes place during The Hunter's Blades trilogy which is 1371-1372 DR. If you go with the more realistic timeline that PotWK and RotP took place directly after Servant of the Shard then RotP took place around 1368-1369 DR. Either way, that places The Rite after RotP.

Haven't read The Rite yet by the way, but it's on my book shelf and on my to do list.

I kept wanting him to say "too bad we exiled King Artemis and their dragon", or "I bet Jarlaxle is behind this". Even a mention of Damara's dragon sisters would have been cool.

Considering that The Rite was written before Road of the Patriarchs it would be kind of hard to mention characters that weren't introduced until later on (real time). In fact, I'd venture to say it might be nice to have seen some references to things that happened in The Rite, or at least to characters, in Road of the Patriarchs, but I'm far beyond caring about consistent continuity at this point.
