In the secind edition of forgotten realms, Thetyr was not have a king, and this was create in dungeon master's brain, great adventures, for give a King to Thetyr. But now, in the third edition, this not is a problem, because Lhaeo, is the king. In my campaingn the players give a king of Thetyr, other king, not Lhaeo, this king are Bismark... And now this players want play this adventure, now in the third edition... And I, the dungeon master, not know what make , if I change the king Bismark to King Lhaeo, how continues their adventure, but, if not, where is Lhaeo, in the third edition, with Elminster again?

Hmmmm, did Lhaeo actually go back to Tethyr to claim his right? I thought he didnt want to go back for fear of being killed due to something that happened in his past to cause him to flee incognito in the first place? I believe it was the Spellfire novel in which Lhaeo mentions this, I havent read the following novels in Shandril's Saga, does it mention more about Lhaeo in these? |

Zimeros if something does not fit what I have done in the realm I just ignore that bit and try to fit it in another way. Keep to YOUR history, and use the Forgotten Realms written material as a guide. The Forgotten Realms will never publish to exactly what has occured in your realms, so it is best to figure out a system to adapt.
I think King Lhaeo HAS claimed his birthright.

I have to agree with Mournblade on this. I never try to fit in something official from FR material in my FR campaign that may spoil the overall changes I have made previously. Only if the change is large and drastic enough due I make a few changes, like the events from RotAW. The fall of Netheril was a little different in my campaign, so I had to find a way to connect past events to the return of the Shade enclaves. However there are large portions of my Realms that remain the same. Unfotunately Tethyr is not one of those regions.
For my campaign at least Lhaeo had time to reclaim his birthright, but lost it several months later, in a series of...
I had to stop there because I did not want to go off-topic.

YOU are the DM, it's YOUR story, so don't pay attention of the info that are in contradiction. Just follow what you had in mind and if the modules fit your way of thinking, it's ok, otherwise change them |

I have to agree. I haven't had that happen to me as a DM, but as a fanfic writer I have. I've never been afraid to blaze my own path, as it were, when it comes to . . . er, disregarding certain areas of a canon storyline. My biggest example would be my Star Trek: Voyager fanfic, but listing those changes (or any other stories') would be going way off-topic.
And we all know how much I try to stay focused on here! |

Zimeros, I have a few ideas you could use in order to handle this situation. I will email them to you. They contain a number of changes that I made to my particular Tethyr realm in my FR campaign. You may be able to use them as a guideline for your own campaign.
