Ok, I ask all the sages here at Candlekeep if they can kindly point me to all sources regarding the nation of Mulhorand (and the surrounding lands of Unther, Murghom, Semphar, and Chessenta). One of my players wants to base a character in an Egyptian-like setting in the Realms and, thankfully, one such culture type exists in the great and wonderful world of Toril. He convinced the other players of the group and, so, we're trying to research everything on the Old Empires (obviously we'll be using any info on Chessenta, Unther, Murghom, and Semphar as well).
I know Lost Empires of Faerun is one, I have the Old Empires from 2nd Edition, and the info in the 3E Forgotten Realms book and info from the 2E Forgotten Realms main books. Where else can I grab info on these nations (particularly Mulhorand)?

I'll look through GHotR and definitely that Dragon Magazine article, I do particularly remember that one (and was ecstatic by it, since I thought the nation of Unther would return and bring back the cool culture and deities with it...alas...that will never be!)  |

There was also this article over at WotC.
I have a wonderful '3e update' to the Old Empires done by a poster over at WotC; He put a LOT of thought into everything and its rather excellent. Unfortunately, since they re-did their site that thread disappeared, but I do have it in a word doc. if you want it. |

Honestly, I thought the Dragon article was beneath the author's usual abilities, and would have benefited from a longer deadline and an extra 2,000 words...
But what do I know.  |

This is a tricky one - I can't find the thread anywhere on the WotC site. I'd like Alaundo to host it here (because it's that good), but I'm not the author, and since I never expected the thread to just disappear, I stupidly never wrote down who the author was (so I can contact him and ask for permission).
If I put into a pdf, would it be possible for Alaundo to host it here? 
I'm really doubting that - even though it was freely offerred over at WotC on their forums, we wouldn't know who to credit it to (and should get his permission anyway).
Anyhow, if Icelander and Razz want, I'll send out the Word File to you guys if you PM me your E-Mails. |

There's no harm in Alaundo asking WotC about the legality of such an action. I'm sure someone in the Wizards license/copyright department can provide him with an idea as to what can be done with those maps. It may even be that the fansite policy itself will cover something like this. |

Were you the author? That article predates WotC's habit of providing author blurbs on articles...
I always wondered about the fact that one of the articles made Rand out to be a Zhent agent, but then the rest didn't have anything like that... |

Well... I didn't think about that, but technically WotC has all rights to the info contained therein at this point (its not maps - its all text), because their own forum policy (that you agree to when you sign-up) specifically states that WotC owns the rights to anything posted on their site.
You see, I know this because that is why Lord Karsus (Dagnirion) removed all the Elven Netbook material from their site, and several artists did the same for their artwork. I never had a problem with it - I have always claimed that everything I work on is the property of WotC, and I make no claims to any of it.
So WotC I suppose has the right to give CK permission to host it (its 23 pages), since they can claim ownership at this point.
However, as good as it is, I still feel kinda 'slimey' posting someone else's work and not being able to credit them for it.
I'm going to try one last time to dig up that thread, and if not, I guess I'll just mail around the Word File. Funny - I'm searching as I type this, and although I still can't find it, I did find something VERY cool and intriguing.
