Is Melegaunt's Granite Tower? As per the Return of the Archwizards trilogy and Realms of shadow, I know that When melegaunt was trasping around the realms he built a shadow based tower in damarra to help out The heroine's ancestors but where is it relatively? Any ideas?

I hope you don't think that some scribes here have simply ignored this post Malanthius. The fact is, there is very little material pertaining to this. However I am searching through everything I have, and all the online sites that I know of. I am sure something will eventuate.
I will let you know either way.

I appreciate the effort Sage, but i'm finally realizing this was strictly a "Return of the Archwizards" addition. I'm simply going to have to go by the clues given in "Realms of Shadow" we know it's relatively close to the flying bird people (aaracoa? or is that someone else...) and had a nearby swamp... anyway, i'll figure it out. No sense in searching for canon when they haven't forged it yet. Mal. |

Still, sometimes there is a short sentence or phrase in passing that will occassionally refer to these types of things. In most cases it has been written down in 2e material, and then expanded novel-wsie in the 3e, so...

Oops. I just realized, Melegaunts tower is supposed to be somewhere in Vaasa, not Damarra... sorry!

I remember that now. It was the original reference I used when I composed the entry for 'Meldengaard' in my Travelogue. Now if I can just locate that original reference in my archives...

Learned Scribe Malanthius,
I hope this missive does not find you too late: I believe I have found the answer for which you sought.
Melegaunt's tower was indeed granite: black granite. You can find this in Dragon Magazine #281, p81.
Master Sage, does this seem like the correct response, as per your Travelogue?
Best regards,

Master Mage,
I actually kind of liked it. It made him seem more.........real, to me. Not the pretty, powerful sort you would expect.
Best regards,

Portrait made him look like some dandy out of the Renaissance, not a dark and mysterious archmage who wandered the underdark amongst a horde of phaerimm. |
