Is there any sort of comprehensive guide to the Faerunian pantheon's area of influence/worship on an individual basis including location of major temples, areas where local shrines are usually welcome, and perhaps specific areas that don't pay homage to certain gods at all?

I've always appreciated the diversity of the FR gods, but I think part of the problem they've suffered comments about there being too many this kind of info is rather vague... so everyone just assumes the entire pantheon is available in all places at all times and for all occasions etc.

I mean, clearly Umberlee is going to be prominent where ever there the seas touch the land and ships set sail from... but how far south does Auril's influence extend, and what do her clerics in the milder "cold" areas do during the summer? Is Tyr found everywhere that law prevails, or is he known under different names in different regions and which ones if so?

I thought Faiths and Pantheons was a great book, but it could have done better if they hadn't wasted space giving stats to gods and the gods' avatars... like maybe stats for avatars would have been fine (as a web enhancement), but the stats for the gods themselves I think was truly, truly wasteful.

Some people are like a slinky... not good for much, but when you push them down the stairs, it makes you smile.

This only addresses part of what interests you, and I'm not sure how up-to-date it is, but there's a page in the Traveler's Notebooks where a scribe called Andrew Blanchard had a go at listing all the named temples of the Realms.

My Realms novel, Sandstorm, is now available for ordering.

Well, that certainly helps. If anyone has created detailed temples (or even whole religions) of their own to "fill in the blanks" of their own campaign, I'd be interested in that as well.

Much more comprehensive information is found in the three volumes predating Faiths and Pantheons: Faiths & Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, and Demihuman Deities. In theses books you find major centers of worship for every listed god.

"What mattered our lives now? When our world had been torn from us? Folk wept, or drank, or stood staring out over the land, wondering what new horror each dawn would bring."
Elender Stormfall of Suzail

"Anyone can kill deities, cause plagues, or destroy organizations. It takes real skill to make them live on."

The aforementioned Faiths & Avatars tome does a little of this. Otherwise, no, there really hasn't been a particular guide put together that comprises such information.

I'll note that I'm presently [yes, still, for some of our older scribes] updating this particular listing with references of temples mentioned in the more recent Realmslore.

I'll look in on it from time to time, then. Thanks for updating it.
