into the forgotton realms?Aside from Dieties, is this type of thing forbidden due to some sort of copyright infringement. I would love to see this as I think there is a lot of story potential there. I would love to see the Circle of Eight meet the Seven sisters...or Elminster meet Mordenkainen...

There were a bunch of Dragon articles (written, if I'm not mistaken, by our Ed of the Greenwood) where El and Mordenkainen got together to swap spells (How else does Bigby's Interposing Hand get to the Realms). But nothing in the literature or sourcebooks.

I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Oh, before I forget, the Lost Gods trilogy brought together Dragonlance and the Realms.

Mordenkainen, Bigby and Tsunroon the Traveler are three mages of Oerth who've visited Toril, and there's been much other traffic between the worlds, in which many spells (including those of Otiluke, Tenser, etc.) have crossed over, Khelben the Younger settled in the Flanaess, Mordenkainen and Vangerdahast competed for a woman, Elminster and Mordenkainen have met several times in Ed Greenwood's house (Dragon's "Wizard Three" articles), and so on.

There are many such references in the sourcebooks. (The Seven Sisters even excerpts "Once more the three".)

Hmmm... I didn't recall that. Thanks Fillow, I've got a reason to go back to The Seven Sisters again!

The main character in the The Cloakmaster Cycle begins in Greyhawk and then travels via spelljammer to Toril and other Crystal Spheres.

The real Khelben Arunson lives in Greyhawk (city).

He is the Grandson of The Blackstaff, who left Toril so that his Grandfather could take his Grandson's identity, in order to obfuscate the truth about how old he really is.

So the woman who everyone think's is Khelben' Blackstaff's mother is really his daughter.

There was also a Kender that visited Toril (can't remember the novel), and an Elven Vampire that traveled from Toril to Ravenloft (and beyond). Although the OP was concerned with connections between Toril and Oerth, one must remember that the crux of the demiplane of Dread - Ravenloft itself - originated on Oerth (Greyhawk).

Actually, no. Teldin Moore comes from Ansalon, on Krynn. And the series itself starts on Krynn too. Teldin then travels to Toril, and other Crystal Spheres in the following "Cloakmaster Cycle" books.

Emilio Haversack, in the novel Tymora's Luck. And Brian conveniently dropped a reference to that event in GHotR, plus, we got another reference [in that entry] about Sigil too.

I wasn't aware of the reference until someone else (I believe it was my senile old friend, who is now absent from these halls) pointed it out, but there's a Nehwon ghoul mentioned in Code of the Harpers.

There is another character in the Cloakmaster Cycle novels, that hails from Oerth, but I can't recall exactly who they are. I'm not sure if they were one of the crew onboard The Probe, when it landed on Toril.

Aelfred Silverhorn (First Mate on The Probe) signed on in Westgate, so is a Forgotten Realms/Spelljammer crossover character. I thought he was the character from Greyhawk, but a flick of Into the Void showed me I was wrong.

I don't think enough was done to create crossover links from Greyhawk. I think that is sad, but perhaps the awful Greyhawk novels by Rose E. made TSR think that references to Greyhawk was something that would drag down other projects. That could be why the Greyhawk based novel Nightwatch, was not promoted as a Greyhawk novel.

Forgotten Realms Adventures (2E):

As noted, this spell [Khelben's warding whip] was developed by Khelben Arunsun, the Blackstaff of Waterdeep, as a specific counter to the various Bigby spells which have appeared in the Realms. Whether the mythical Bigby of Greyhawk visited the Realms or Khelben or some other Realmsmage visited Oerth to bring these spells from one world to another is not known. As the wizard of Waterdeep once noted to his apprentice Illistar, "The old goat comes up with one good gimmick, and beats it to death with a rock." Bigby's response, if any, has never been recorded.

-It's metagame, but Karsus, Wulgreth, and a lot of the High Forest that are related originally came from "Dragonquest" I believe it was called, and incorporated into the world.

Duke Rowan Darkwood, Factol of the Fated from Planescape was born on Oerth, but after a 10 year imprisonment in Baator, finding his family moved on and assuming his death, he reinvented and made a name for himself on FR (during the time of the Zhengyi).

Gods don't count, AFAIK. There are too many that are multi-world deities for that to matter.

The Goddess is alive, and magic is afoot.
