for the select few who remember the last incarnation of my comic which was posted on this forum: this is an all new version and has nothing to do with inferior previous material
IMPORTANT: the art got improved with every new comic and the latest improvements are only featured in strips #15 (after the first hug) and #1, so if you comment on the style, please use those as a benchmark
I have been working on the comic for more than half a year now, this is the most recent beta
The project: The She-Wolf and the Goddess is a stick-figure style comic based on the Baldurīs Gate Trilogy of computer games. The comic genre is realistic drama on an epic level, not comedy (canīt stress this enough). The story is set in the Forgotten Realms, and I try to keep things as realmsy as possible. (that means no metagaming)
Now, what makes my fan fiction unique: it is more than mere fan fiction. Basically I take influences/motifs/quotes I like from my favourite movies/books/songs/comics and adjust them to the BG story (the main characters (or in the case of Imoen: her personality and appearance) are my own creations though). I expand parts of the game that are just briefly mentioned (e.g. the roles of Gorion, Winthrop and Sarevok) and twist others to my liking. The storytelling is non-linear, multi-layered and non-chronological. Most importanty, the "big picture" of the story is much much more epic compared to the game...
why I post this here: ok, I realize that my comic is utterly uninteresting for most people, but here on this forum some people might know the story and the backgrounds (except those I made up myself), so I would like to know your opinion on how I handled the story and on the general concept of my comic, if you intend to do so, please read the strips carefully and note that this is planned as a long-time project, so lots of stuff that is said in the comic has not necessary already been explained
also, the art is everything but final and I would appreciate your comments on how to improve it
------------------ hereīs a list of the sources I use: -BG Trilogy (duh) -various fan-made mods (especially the Lord M "Imoen romance mod") (this means contents some of the members of this forum wrote are used as sources) -The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting 3rd edition -several D&D sourcebooks, most importantly Deities and demigods 3rd edition (and this is very important if you know certain 2nd and 3rd edition rule differences) -An introduction to Candlekeep by Ed Greenwood -and lots of movies/books/songs/comics as indirect sources (well the comics are just 8Bit Theater and OOTS, I donīt read any others)
