I'm not sure that this would actually be considered a spoiler, but I marked it anyway, just in case.
I am currently about half way through R.A. Salvatore's The Orc King, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the extra planar creatures that Drizzt, Regis, and the dwarves encounter when they first go down the hole in Fell Pass are?

The weird lizard things with three eyes and mandibles, that stood up on their tails and attacked? Those things are called Nightshades? Anyone know where I can find their stats?
Personally, Salvatore's description of them kind of made me think of the creatures from Tremors 2. (I think it was 2 anyway, the one where they were walked around above ground and sensed heat). Either those things or that creature from one episode of Dark Angel. I think the thing was called a Gossamer, but it tracked by scent and spit this paralyzing mucus that hardened around it's victim.
Oh yeah almost forgot, thanks for the answer dwarvenranger. |

If you give me the chapter (and preferably the pages) then I will go back and read it and see if I can figure it out. It has been close to a year since I read it. |

My bad, I thought you were talking about the large shadowy creatures they fought. It's been a while since I read the book as well. |

Hey Bane, you were right. Edition 3.5, Vol. I of the Monster Manual has the Ethereal Marauder, and judging from the description and the picture, that is definitely the creature I was looking for.
