Poll Question:
With The Living Realms being Launched at GenCon Indy next month I was wondering who was going to give it a try at some point.

I voted yes as I am going to try it out at GenCon and see what it is all about. |

I ain't interested in 4e Realms. If the opportunity presents itself I will try 4e... if it doesn't I'm fine with that as well |

In neither word, thought, nor deed -- and certainly not in money! -- will I do anything to prop up this horrible Realms.New.Coke thing. It's a malignancy which needs to be extirpated before it spreads.

I checked maybe, because while I don't like the 4E FR, I can't say with certainty that I would never ever try the LFR if I somehow got the chance. A chance to play a game is a chance to play a game.
Honestly, I've wavered back and forth on this issue. I don't see myself actively seeing a game out, though. |

I'd have to see what it looked like, how the game played and if it looked half decent before I'd even think about paying to play. However, its more than likely that I'd not play it as I have so little free time these days and what time I do have, I try to squeeze in P&P D&D with friends. |

Thanks for all the candid answers, keep 'em coming!!!
I myself would not seek a game out either , but since I am going to GenCon and Living Realms will be there..... |

I think I would rather swill rothe urine.
But hey, I don't need to do anything that drastic. I'm just going to play in the Pathfinder Society, which looks like lots of fun. Of course, the fact it's being overseen by Nick Logue might have a bit to do with that. |

I have no interest in playing in the LFR - not because of any deep hatred for 4e, but rather a deep hatred for anything 'organized'. When a game starts to look like a political entity, I go running for the hills.
As for 4e - I'll give both the rules and the Realms a shot. If it doesn't grab me, I'll move on or switch back to 3e FR. Since I don't plan on signing any 'infernal contracts' with WotC, I can freely switch back if I so desire. |

No, I am not interested in that sort of thing, no matter which edition it is. |

Nope. No time to waste anymore (entered the "have-a-kid-now-so-must-put-carreer-in-overdrive-mode" period of my life, so time is limited... so when I *do* game, I can only afford to play in a setting I know and love; I got no time for the Sellplague, RPGA, or any other stupid WotC marketing scheme...) |

Time certainly is of the essence, and would be a factor in any decision I'd make. |

I'm currently showering twice a day in the vain hope that at some point I step out of the shower and realise that $th Edition never happened. It was all a bad dream.
Whilst we're talking about "Living" campaigns (and the irony that lots of deities and NPC's are dead has not escaped me) how did the Living Greyhawk thing work out? |

Ah yes... but there are other benefits to shower twice a day! |

That all depends if you are in prison or not. |

Can't help but visualize Kiaransalyn in the shower after the last few posts.......unless the living realms has Loofas and body scrubs, I think we are getting off track! (but at least not in an undesired direction!) |

Maybe, but probably not.
From what I recall of Living Greyhawk, players need the latest, greatest published resources to participate--as well as gas money to travel from RL region to region and fully explore the setting.
I'm low on gas money as-is, and I doubt I'll migrate editions to participate in Living Realms. So, probably not. |

You, young sir, are incorrigible!
I suggest you take a cold shower then promptly return this thread to being back on topic before Herr Rupert gets very grumpy.
Speaking of which...

Well given the high price of petrol now it does seem that a Living campaign will not be fully taken up. Hey, here's a thought, why don't they try and do something on-line for this? |

By matter of principle, I would not support anything from the 4th "sellplague" edition. |
