Re: The Gazetteer. It's small font, and rather light on detail, though that's deliberate. It's a good source to give to a player in a Golarion game, basically. The Campaign Setting is a much more detailed book, but it's also much more expensive.
Another thing that might interest you, Kiaran, is that Ulisses-Spiele is doing some translations of Pathfinder products into German. Link here. Though, you might prefer your RPG stuff in English. |

Thanks for the link, Uzzy.
I think I'll buy the Gazetteer. After all, nothing ventured nothing gained. Also, the general impression I get from you and the other scribes is positive. |

| 4E has completely soured me on D&D/roleplaying and this Pathfinder stuff is so refreshing. I just orderd the Campaign Setting and the Gazatteer (spelling?) and as hard as it is to say this, it may be time to say goodbye to the realms... |

Uzzy & Kiaransalyn: the Gazetteer is available as a free PDF download on the Paizo website. In fact, I'm finding quite a few of their products can be downloaded for free, as a promotional feature, so we can make our own minds about their stuff before even spending one penny...
Paizo's got it together if you ask me! |

PDK,
Would you mind providing us with links to the various free products? I have trouble navigating the Paizo site sometimes.
Thanks, Hawkins |

-Are you sure about that. I know if you buy it, via subscription you get a PDF Download. I also know that you can buy the PDF's seperately.
-This is a free download. Its an adventure from the Module line. You do have to "order it". Link
-This download is from the RPGDAY in June. Linky
-Then you have this one. Use the link in the first post. Link
-Also last but not least The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Alpha PDF. way too big URL
-I found the paizo site confusing at first. Practice, practice, practice.

| Thanks Brimstone, I actually have all of those. The one that I really wanted a link to is the free PDF of the Gazetteer that PDK mentions. I went to the site today and found the Gazetteer , but there was no mention of being able to download it for free. Maybe it was a promotion yesterday that ended before I learned of it...which would be weird, considering that most of Paizo's promotions seem to be ending today. |

| While I am excited for the Pathfinder RPG (the 3.5 revised rules set), I am not as excited for all of the "splat books" that Paizo is creating (no matter how well designed and written), for the same reason that I am not excited for 4e and 4e splatbooks: I already have 3.x splatbooks covering those subjects. The planar one I might pick up because I was not extremely fond of the 3.x Manual of the Planes, but that is only because I never actually bought that book for myself. However, I already have a Draconomicon (one of the overall better 3.5 books IMO). Maybe I will look into the ones on undead and fiends too, since I do not have Libris Mortis or either of the Fiendish Codex volumes. |

You see, that's how my luck runs. I order the books from Amazon and then read this.
Still, I'm going on holiday on Wednesday and being clever I've got the books sent to my holiday destination so I'll have something fresh to read. |

| It's not available for free. Paizo do offer many products for free on their site, such as the Players Guides to Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne, the two free RPG day modules and the forthcoming Pathfinder Beta, but the Gazetteer isn't free. |

The downloads ARE free, but only if you subscribe to the Pathfinder Chronicles - paying for the hardcopy gets you the pdf for FREE.
Perhaps this is why the confusion. |

You don't need to be a subscriber, just to have purchased the hardcopy version from them. Once you do that, then the pdf version becomes available to you for free personalized download. |
