I think you should contact The sage via PM who said that he may have one in that topic that you mention |

A Candlekeep map would be very nice to have, considering that Anauroch, which was, I think, the last adventure ever published for Ed Greenwood's Forgotten Realms, is set there, in part. I am certain that most PCs would deeply resent going there and then being dragged out by the nose without a chance to explore, considering all that they will have gone through to get there, and (for the DM) in light of what they will soon have to face. (Bad Things. Many, many Very Bad Things.)

With some quick searching, you can probably find the maps of Candlekeep used in the Baldur's Gate CRPG. If nothing else, it might be good for ideas. |

Alas, I, for one, have it not.
Are there any maps of Candlekeep in Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate?

Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate can only be found in the manual to the first Baldur's Gate game. It's got about a page of text on Candlekeep, mostly generic info. There is an aerial shot of a walled castle, but that's the only graphic.
I did a quick scan of the pdf of Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II, and I didn't even find a single reference to Candlekeep. |

With some searching, one might be able to find the screens of the inside of the keep, although it's much what one might expect: shelves, desks, quarters for the prominent residents of Candlekeep.
On Gamebanshee.com, I saw the maps for Candlekeep's catacombs. |

DRAGON #255 provided a map of Candlekeep based on the events of the BG games. But trust not THOSE maps. Ed's intro, on this site, is as good as we have regarding the layout thus far [plus the relevant "Wyrm of the North" article Ed wrote].

It would be nice if an official map based on Ed's info could be made. I for one would enjoy that very much. |

You mean This Pic?
I wouldn't mind taking a gander at Sage's map - maybe the one from the game can be altered to fit Ed's text? |

I've got two maps. The first is the one originally described in the scroll shandiris linked to above. And I did originally attempt to do base it on something like you suggested above. But it requires a great deal of patience and access to most of the lore we have on Candlekeep. But that's really only if you want to make sure that you don't miss including anything!
Anyways, I don't believe my second Candlekeep map for my FR campaigns would be of much use to you. A lot of the background lore of the Sword Coast in my FR has been changed somewhat by my campaign's history. And as such, Candlekeep has been affected as well. I've got additions to the structure of the library and expanded it's size significantly -- almost to the point where it could be considered a "library-city" [very much like what the Silver Surfer encountered during the 'Infinity Quest' story-arc].

Not to bring any sort of 'bad feelings' into this thread, but I imagine CandleKeep looking VERY much as you describe it by the time the 4e setting rolls around.
Think about it - CandleKeep is a house of scholars, and some of the greatest minds on Toril reside there. Brian has already told us it survives... by why not take that a step further?
The Spellplague destroyed many settlements, and massive numbers of people migrated to new areas (creating the Baldur's Gate 'super-city'). What if hundreds - perhaps thousands - of refugees came to the doors of Candlekeep as well? Would the scholars leave them outside to die? Would they attempt to help them in some way? Even if they didn't let them in, I can see a vast tent-city springing up around CK, and eventually the Scribes would have to do something about it... especially if the large numbers of people attracted 'monsters' and other hungry critters to the region.
They would probably eventually extend the outer wall, and CK would in fact turn into a scholar-city, much in the same way Tar Valon (WoT) grew around the White Tower of the Aes Sedai.
And it would probably look more like that pic I linked above.
So, inadvertantly you may have created a very good represntation of the future of CK, good Sage. |

Interesting. Though, it's not something that can be easily addressed, I think.
We know from some sources that knowledge is paramount in Candlekeep. And the monks have a well established regime for accessing the archives and knowledge base of the library. In other words, it's controlled somewhat. A sudden flood of refugees could potentially disrupt that established regime -- forcing the monks to place tighter controls on how and when information from the library can be accessed. To allow otherwise could place the one absolute rule of Candlekeep under constant threat.
