I ask only because I'd like my rogue/swashbuckler to have a bit more diversity as to fighting and I wondered who else added ToB content to their games.
Also, I'm thinking of taking levels in Shadodancer and wanted to use the Telflammar Shadowlord PrC from Unapproachable East. The DM might allow me to gain the Shadow-walker template from the church of Achaekek (and the organization of the Red Mantis Assassins) so I was wondering if you guys would think the Red Mantis's would allow Shadowlords/shadowdancers in their organization?
Not as far as I know. But that's mostly because the changes that were made to the "fighting" classes made a lot of the benefits from Tome of Battle no longer needed to balance high-level fighters with high-level casters. |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Agreed. Of course, I never thought the changes were necessary to begin with; I've always preferred to play non-spellcasters, and the rules changes in 4E just made doing otherwise an impossible choice.
As far as Golarion is concerned... any news as to further Golarion work from Ed? I've heard from THO in his scroll that he's fantastically busy right now; I thought that might be part of why (I know his new Elminster novel is another part of it, as is his work for DDI and his efforts to get the Cormyr Lineage into publication, not to mention his commute and day job, as well as the time he puts in answering our questions, but those things are all in a "normal" day for Ed). I'm tired just thinking about that... but I have some lorecrafting of my own to do and some game mechanics testing to finish up. |
Playing in the Realms since the Old Grey Box (1987)... and *still* having fun with material published before 2008, despite the NDA'd lore.
If it's comparable in power with non-magical abilities, it's not magic. |

IMO Bo9S is one of the best 3E Books WotC made.
Cause melee in 3E blew chunks after level 11.
It shouldn't be to hard to update those classes to Pathfinder. More options=more fun. |

AP #33 is now out (to the subscribers). With Iobaria the first country beyond the Inner Sea region is detailed - this is first new territory we get that is not in the Pathfinder Campaign setting.
In this thread we get also details about the revision of the campaign setting (due in September): world map, every country on 4 pages with map, and more. |

Did I mention I LOVE the Racial books that Paizo's putting out? Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and (coming soon) Orcs and Halflings!
Each one, 32 beautiful pages of Racial/Cultural history, articles on Settlements, Religion, Language and Personalities. These books are mostly 'fluff'/lore that always makes me want to play a character of that race right after reading through it.
And Steven, you deserve all the praise I heap on ya!
Mod Edit: Corrected the 'Halflings' URL. |

| I finally got around to subscribing to Pathfinder Tales last week! I am greatly looking forward to falling in love with a new fantasy setting (written by authors that I already know and love). Not sure if I am going to try and pick up the campaign setting and other source books though. Trying to keep up with the rpg rules books and the novel line is expensive enough. |

Hint: The Pathfinder Adventure Path has a lot of setting 'fluff' by a lot of great authors (including our esteemed Mr. Greenwood, Mr. Schend, Ms. Cunningham and others). Not to mention that by subscribing to it, you get 15% off most Paizo purchases (including other subscribtions).
Oh, and the adventures are pretty cool too! |

I appreciate the desire to remain "pure," but the sample is Chapter Two, which does not spoil Chapter One. In fact, in an early outline, it was Chapter One. |

| I'm curious... I've come to Pathfinder much later than everyone else, and I'm still collecting their stuff. Have their iconics, like Seoni, been statted out? |

| No, they have not been statted out, since in every adventure some of the iconics are featured with different levels - so when you need stats, they are at the back of the AP volumes and modules. But they have provided lore in the blog - just click the tag Meet the Iconics. And last but not least James Jacobs on stats. |

Ah, that Meet the Iconics thing was exactly what I wanted: their backgrounds. I only asked for stats because the two are often presented together, at least when there is a background available. Thanks! |

After Guide to the River Kingdoms and Heart of the Jungle, two chronicles that ingeniously describe settings ripe for adventure (indeed, they are simply wonderful), another great volume of the chronicles line has appeared: City of Strangers, detailing Kaer Maga, a city already ancient beyond measure when the runelords first explored their new country of Thassilon. In its uncharted depths lie secrets in vast chambers and even pocket dimensions not even the mysterious caulborn are able to decipher ... and are better left undisturbed.
Having downloaded the PDF I am now eagerly awaiting my print copy for a thorough study |

Wayfinder #3 is out! .
Anyone who feels like giving me some feedback regarding my article (about Milani) can do so right here..
I don't have to create a link to Elaine Cunningham's thread for those wanting to give feedback on her bit of flash fiction, do I? |

These are times I really wished that I lived in the US. I can only imagine what that same order would cost me, once you factor in the exchange rate and shipping costs to Australia. |

I think I'll really need to re-consider the option of purchasing a subscription. Even with the exchange rate, if I can manage to save a little, it'll be worth it once I get my hands on these tomes! |
