Ok, you're trapped on a deserted island and you're given the choice to bring ONE Forgotten Realms novel. Obviously it would probably be your favorite for whatever reason, which one would it be and why?
I might get crap on here it sounds, but it has to be Homeland. It was the first FR book I purchased and it really sucked me in. It started the addiction. The association with the book made me realize the appreciation for fantasy literature that I had forgotten and really helped me ease through stressful times.

One Realms novel? Well, it would be between Spellfire, Night Parade and the first book of the Moonshae series.
I would prefer to have something else than a Realms novel to read though. |

Ditto. Although, even then, "one novel" is too little and too cruel. =( |

One Realms novel? How cruel you are!
I would have to pick Cormyr. It covers a large swip of history and is large enough to keep my mind occupied for a while. |

Realms novel, eh?
Evermeet...
If it was another novel my first choice would be I, Jedi which I have to read again, the two years are up... |

That was one of the first novels I replaced after the fire. That one and the Timothy Zahn books are the only Star Wars novels I've read. I read that one because it was a one-shot and because it's by Stackpole. |

| Actually I, Jedi is rather a continuation of Michael Stackpole's X-Wing series... also very cool to read |

Provided we're limiting this just to FR novels, it is indeed a 'tough' question.
Though, I do believe Ed's Swords of Eveningstar would suffice. |

once you are done reading said favorite novel, many other creative "survival" uses for the novel come to mind For the purpose of the post, I chose a thick "favorite" FR novel |

Yeah, but it stands alone quite well, and it's not really a part of the X-Wing books. |

If you then had to pick a Realms novel its got to be one with Drizzt in it; he is a ranger, a barbarian and the survives everything! Do like him and you cant fail
Sorry, I could not resist.
As for I, Jedi. I have that unread in my shelves, it seems like I should give it a chance. |

If I were trapped on a desert island, I wouldn't be able to read--I'd be too busy trying to ensure I wouldn't die horribly of starvation and/or dehydration. And I'd be trying to get myself off the island, of course! |

| Oh man that would be tough, but I would have to bring "The Legacy" because it was the first realms novel I read (hell it was the first novel I read, not counting anything school related)....it just captivated me so much that I can still picture many scenes in my head that it would feel right to be the one to bring. |

If I was stranded on an island, I'd want the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook. That book contained just about everyone someone would need to know, so it would easily cover surviving and getting off of a deserted island. |

| I would have to say Shadow's Witness, Paul Kemp's depiction of a guy with a dark past who worships an evil god and trying to do the right thing was just captivating. I look forward to the publication of Shadowrealm so I can finally read the most recent Ervis Cale trilogy (I want to be able to read each book right after the other, with no breaks in between). |

| I would have to go with Homeland. It's a great story that deals with internal struggles and the strenth to overcome obstacles. When ever I try to get someone interrested in reading Forgotten Realms. I give them this novel. It's the best. |
