The newest of the Countdown to the Realms: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/drfe/20080227a
I want to start off by thanking Brian James. You've watched the weeping, the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, and I think you've done a great job addressing a few of the concerns that have been presented previously. I commend you, Brian.
I will admit, it kinda shoots the whole "There can be no timeline made for those years" line that the FR Design Team tried to feed us in the arse. After reading this article, I'm not as psycho about the new setting, if it's handled with the thought and sense that Brian put into this article.
If people like Brian, Master Greenwood, Erik Scott de Bie and Mr. Baker are in charge, and not the numbskulls that have previously presented some of the information, then there is hope for the Realms.
I'm still not sure how I feel about a more "fantastic" tone and feel. I kinda felt that it already was pretty fantastic in my opinion.
Never the less, that being said, I feel there's no point in badgering concerns that have already been brought up. I just really want to say, once again, "Thanks, Brian. At the very least you've managed to keep my current campaign alive for a few more 'years'."
