I know we have access to a number of the Realms authors / designers here at CK but what about artists? Has anyone from these halls ever had their artwork grace the inside (or cover for that matter) of a novel, sourcebook, or adventure module? If so, would you mind discussing how the process went?

Well, Ed of the Greenwood has, of course. Is there anything you'd like me to ask him?

I've had only minimal involvement in the artwork process, limited mostly to my telling my editor (who then tells the art editor) a few *scenes* that I think might be good cover art.

After that, the next time I see the cover art is when it goes up on Amazon. Usually a reader brings it to my attention--rarely do I see the art first myself.

Not that I'm complaining--there's a neat little surprise aspect to that.

Cheers

Well, you got some pretty nice cover art for your books. I think it must be a bit nerve wracking waiting to see if your book is going to look awful.

He is a bit of a special case...

I guess my question would be along the lines of this. If someone wanted to be immortalized by getting a drawing into a sourcebook/adventure module, how would you go about accomplishing this goal? Feel free to assume some skill but no formal education in the field.

Thanks and I'm sorry but it's too early in the morning at the end of long week for me to come up with any inappropriate innuendo. We'll have to keep this conversation platonic until I get my coffee.
