A very apt title I think for my post, as I was getting that way while I was reading R.A. Salvatores 'Legacy of the Drow' series recently.

If some of you read my recent post regarding that series, you will know that I became tired of endless battles. I wanted more meat to the books I was reading.

I know Rad had read the 'War of the Spider Queen' books, and every time I saw him he would proudly show me the books on his shelf and utter the words "Get them down ya neck!". He had nothing but praise for the books that had been released so far.

So I was out and I saw that we had WotSQ: Condemnation on the shelves now, so I bought it. I then went home and ordered the other 2 books that preceeded it.

I got to the end of 'Starless Night' and I thought I must give reading about Drizzt and Co. a rest. So I turned to my shelves and picked up Dissolution.

Now this is what I am talking about, THIS is what I call a book!!
Richard Lee Byers has made Drow interesting to read about again. This is a book that actually has a story, and only uses the action modestly to drive the story along. The characters are defined so well that I had an immediate affinity with them. I can't put this book down!!

R.A. Salvatores - War of the Spider Queen? PAH!!

Move over Bob.....this is Richard Lee Byers moment, let him basque in the glory of the wonder he has written.

While I happen to disagree with you about the Drizzt books in general, I wholeheartedly agree with you about the WOTSQ series so far. Salvatore was the first author to really explore the society of the Drow, and realy bring it to life with his fisrt 3 Dark Elf books. I think he picked the authors for this series with his style of writing in mind (at least when it came to how Drow society was written anyway), and I must say, he picked some great ones for this series.
I can't wait to dig into the third one in the series after this weekend when my best friend brings it down for me. He's a manager for Walden's Books and gets me a 33% discount on anything I want from his store. The only problem is he lives about 2 hours away from me, so I rarely get to see him much, but I don't mind waiting to get that discount!
