Ok so I was thinking about books that may or may not be canon and is the Twilight Giants Trilogy canon? Hartsvale is not mentioned anywhere in the index of the Third Edition Campaign Setting, but the theif character Aaron I beleieve was his name is a character in The Crucible and maybe Prince of Lies (not sure about that) and in one of Salvatores novels I believe Sea of Swords there is mention of a mast on a ship being from a large tree in Hartsvale. So whats the deal with this? Discuss. lol

Hartsvale certainly is canon. Practically all of FOR6 Giantcraft is devoted to this area and the material contained within the novels. I believe that "Silver Marches" has some references to Hartsvale also.

This novel trilogy was one of those unfortunate ones written in a vacuum. It doesn't deal at all with the greater Realms around Hartsvale and is like a plug and play addition. It's not considered a great aspect of the Realms by the wider FR community.
