A Forgotten Realms Boxed Set (2nd edition) with a Complete Book of Elves is being offered now on eBay as item 320207276468. The seller has a 100% rating, but I have not dealt with him or her. Caveat emptor, as always!

If I didn't already have it I'd be all over it like a bum on a sandwich. |

Bah, after putting the thread here it will be a hard race to get the price ...
Only once in a while there are some very good offers out there, but even less often I'm aware of them, so just keep posting them - Thanks! |

I don't post the items on bidding on, of course! Since my collection is filling out more and more, though, I have a pretty guy for what's rare or uncommon and what's a fair price.
Example of rarity: Radiant Dragon by Elaine Cunningham. My copy is from her, personally, but they are sometimes very scarce. Currently someone is offering the complete Cloakmaster series minus Elaine's book.
Keep searching mes amis, there's still good stuff out there (in some of which Mystra is alive, too!).

Er ... ahem! Exactly NO ONE bid on the boxed set, which annoys me because I could have entered the opening bid and got The Complete Book of Elves for myself at a lower price than on Amazon and had a second Forgotten Realms boxed set in the bargain, to mark up amd cut up and play with to my heart's content. I bought another book from this seller, and he said that he'd be relisting the FR boxed set this weekend. Again, while I cannot personally vouch for the seller, I think it creates a poor impression of FR fans (at a time when Hasbro wants to be rid of all of us) that no one bothered to bid. Come on, people, if it's intact as described it's worth twenty to thirty dollars, let alone the $9.99 for which the first bidder could have bought it.
My own collection is getting well-stocked, so I can afford to tip the local scribes about goodies on eBay and Amazon. If no one is even going to put a good item on a watch list, for the Outlands sake, I'll save my energy. Here endeth the lesson.

Well I want to say that I appreciate you passing along the information and I had plans to bid on this item but unfortunately I ran into some family issues and by the time I go back to my pc the bidding was over. |

Yeah, there's a lot of reasons something can go untouched... There have been times I wanted to bid on something, but got distracted in the last few minutes... Or, like right now, I've got too much other stuff I've bid on, so I'm trying not to bid on anything else until after payday.
Besides, this set is something that's new enough and common enough that there won't always be a huge demand for it. Even when there is demand, sometimes things just don't get bid on...
I just won a book the other day that usually goes for $75 or more; I got it for $31.
A figure that I was repeatedly outbid on when I bid $35, I wound up getting for $21. The figure was a mint-in-box Mac II Destroid, from the old Robotech series (my old, beat-up one that I traded two tape Transformers for in High School was lost in the fire). Not a full week later, someone had a lot of 5 of them -- it went for around $50.
eBay is just plain weird, sometimes. |

It's been relisted, and the seller didn't honor my request to separate out the Complete Handbook of Elves, which is vexatious, since, had I kept this to myself, I could have bought the pair of them last week for less money than I'll now have to spend just to buy the Elf book from some other seller.

I'm bidding on this particular item. Thanks for the heads up. |
And if the PCs DO win their ways through all the liches to Larloch, “he” will almost certainly be just another lich (loaded with explosive spells) set up as a decoy, with dozens of hidden liches waiting to pounce on any surviving PCs who ‘celebrate’ after they take Larloch down. As the REAL Larloch watches (magical scrying) from afar. Myself, as DM, I’d be wondering: “Such a glorious game, so many opportunities laid out before your PCs to devote your time to, and THIS fixation is the best you can come up with? Are you SURE you’re adventurers?” -Ed Greenwood

Sometimes sellers can be idiots... There was once someone who listed a lot of magazines. I only wanted one, not the entire lot. So when the auction ended with no bidders, I pinged the guy, saying I wanted the one magazine, and asking if he would sell it separately. He agreed... But for a higher price than the original auction would have been, with shipping! His reasoning was that he had decided how much he wanted for the entire lot, and he was either going to get that amount, or he was going to throw the magazines away. I tried to negotiate the price down, but couldn't get him to be reasonable. I pointed out that something was better than nothing, but the guy wouldn't budge. So he got no money from me. |

It's better if you win it! This will be my second FRCS (my first was missing some things). |

I got mine on PDF... when Wot-zi was posting all the old stuff on PDF. I have this huge bookshelve of books that I've converted or obtained in PDF format. There's just something to be said about carrying your entire FR library on a thumb drive. It makes the commute to gaming on saturdays much easier. I mean its nice to have the books when gaming is at my house, nothing replaces sitting on the living room floor surrounded by maps and books working on how to best kill (er entertain) your players. But, on those weekends where we are somewhere else. Its easier to keep 3 year old fingers off your campaign setting if its in your pocket. Hahahaha |

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this question as it's regarding ebay. But what is a publishers mark? I am seeing products I'd like to purchase with the condition of "like new with a publishers mark". |
