I would like to point out that Byers's story is related to his current trilogy, The Haunted Lands. |

True enough, so read Unclean. ;) |

It would be nice to see a WotC novel on the bestseller lists other than RAS.
FWIW, anthologies seldom sell as well as novels, so the likelihood of REALMS OF WAR showing up on bestselling lists is . . . optimistic. I would be very pleased if it made the one of the "Media tie-in" sub-lists in LOCUS. These are lists Forgotten Realms novels frequently hit. Anthologies, not so much.
And really anthologies should sell the best. They are a great place to "taste test" the Realms and not put too much time into doing so by reading a 30-40 page short story. Is the only way to view thee LOCUS lists through the aforementioned magazine? Does B&N post their bestsellers anywhere for the public to see? I know currently on Amazon Realms of War is around the 12,000 mark for books. That seems to be fairly high since new WotC novels generally land at around the 18-25,000 mark on Amazon.
Here's a link to the December 2007 page on Locus Magazine Online:
https://www.locusmag.com/2007/Issue12_LocusBestsellers.html
If you can't access this page, go to the Locus home page (www.locusmag.com) and type "bestseller" into the search function. You may pull up notices about encripted pages, but be persistent and the pages will come up.
I haven't visited Locus for a while, and I noted a few changes to the lists. Game-related novels used to be included with Media Tie-ins; now the two are separate. And now that there's a separate catagory for game-related fiction, FR novels have both an advantage and a disadvantage. On the one hand, they have a better chance of appearing on the list; on the other, this underscores the wide-spread belief that game-related fiction belongs in a sub-sub-genre ghetto.
Ah, thank you very much for that website. Those sub-genres of books do seem a little odd. It certainly is a double-edged sword though. Well, let's hope Realms of War shows up! |

Is there a problem with WotC's "products" page? Because that novel doesn't show up in the list. I almost always used that list to see what was coming up, and was very surprised to learn of a new novel via Candlekeep's forum (combined with the Chapters' website). |

Wizard's Product library for 2008 is a mess, on some page 2008 shows up, on others it's only listing up to 2007. I have a feeling this is largely due to D&D Insider redesign.
For novel info I'd suggest o-love.net...

Could you post a link, because it's neither in the product listing page nor in the forgotten realms novels page (from the Book section of the wizards' website). |

I'm halfway through this collection, and it's shaping up to be the best FR anthology I've ever read. |

Indeed, I'm enjoying it myself. I'm on Ed's story. |
