I knew those Chondies were up to no good. It was very satisfying to see Bascau get his at the end of Taen's sword! Not only has Jhoqo gone bad, he is loosing his grip on his sanity. I hated to see the dwarves in the middle of this, but it is refreshing to see "bad" dwarves who aren't Duergar (sp?). Nice twist having Adeenya's father be the "he" Jhoqo kept refering to. When he told Marlke that "He" would not let him harm her, I thought it may be him. Then the story pressed on and the thought slipped away until you revealed it. Nice work my friend! Just read where Adeenya leads the remnants of the Durpari and Maquar to the gates. I can't wait to finish |

You're getting to the big action stuff. I'm really glad you're enjoying it RW.
Having the dwarves be doing something "bad" was a really appealing part of the idea to me. I like seeing races in roles different than is traditional for them.
Killing Bascou was really, really (maybe too much so) satisfying. |

I really liked the glimpse into the mindset of the formians. There really isn't any malice to them at all, just a matter of fact need to do things their own way.
Seeing the whole clan of dwarves scheming was an interesting twist, and I liked that we got to see the Chondathans in on a plot, since its an underutilized culture in the Realms (I really loved the Scions of Arrabar books).
I had figured that Adeenya's father was the mysterious figure at the head of this conspiracy earlier on, but it was nice to see it confirmed. |

I enjoyed it very much (after waiting forever for my bookstore to get it). When is the next one? |

Thank you very much Gryphon! I appreciate you taking the time to say that.
As of now, I have no more FR books on the horizon. I am working on a non-FR project, but who knows how long that might take, heh. Thank you for asking. |
