While I enjoyed the book for the most part, I had a difficult time of getting into it. It was only after the murder of the terir (Loraica?) that it started moving/picking up enough pace to keep me interested. I will not mention what I liked or disliked particularly, since it will just echo what others have already mentioned (formian mindset, no romance, wounded heroes, sudden mage death syndrome, etc.) I do have to ask though, whatever happened to the original expedition stationed at Neversfall? This was never explained in the course of the novel. Overall I'd give this one 7/10. |

Kyrene,
Thank you for your comments. I appreciate you having given the book a chance.
As to your specific question...I had attempted to imply that the first expedition had succumbed to the attacks of the same group that attacked the second group. You're not the first to ask that question, though, so I fear I didn't do a good job of implying that. That said, I don't mind readers making up their own versions of what might have happened to them.
Thanks again for reading. I'd be happy to answer more questions if you have any.
Thank you. |
