Has anyone seen any recent mention of these creatures?

I was interested to know if they made it into a 3.x translation somewhere. I was just reading back over my Villains Lorebook and realized I hadn't seem then again in this latest version.

I do not believe there is, and it doesn't surprise me. As long as Kellen has the Shadowstar, they won't be coming back to Toril.

Yes, but they still reside in the Plane of Shadow where they can be encountered.

Not only that...but what if someone stole the Shadowstar and used it...

Looking for an adventure hook here.

Well, it looks like I'm sure there is nothing on the Shadevari...

Anyone ever wrote them up for 3.x?

If not...guess I will!

Just for fun, I broke out my conversion manual and Villian's Lorebook and took a stab at statting them out. The stats didn't quite match how tough they were in the novel so I tried to rectify that a bit. Anyway, use it or not, here's what I came up with:

Shadevari: CR 12; Medium Outsider (Extraplanar); HD 14d8+56 (Outsider) ; hp 133; Init +8; Spd 50; AC:24 (Flatfooted:20 Touch:14); Atk +19 base melee, +18 base ranged; +19/+14 (1d8+5, 2 Claw; 2d6+2, Slam); SA: Bleeding Wounds (Ex) ; SQ: Spell Resistance (Ex): 25, Damage Reduction (Su): 10/Magic, Blindsight (Ex): 120 ft., Improved Tracking (Ex), Immunity: Sight-based Illusions (Ex), Keen Scent (Ex), No Dual Nature (Ex); AL NE; SV Fort +13, Ref +13, Will +12; STR 20, DEX 18, CON 18, INT 16, WIS 16, CHA 12.
Skills: Balance +23, Climb +22, Disguise +18, Escape Artist +21, Hide +21, Jump +32, Knowledge (The Planes) +20, Listen +20, Move Silently +21, Survival +20, Tumble +23.
Feats: Deflect Arrows, Endurance, Improved Critical: Claw, Improved Initiative, Improved Toughness, Run, Simple Weapon Proficiency, Track.

War to slay, not to fight long and glorious.

Sweet! Thanks Xysma...that will work just fine. Only thing I'm confused on is the "No Dual Nature" stuff...what book is that in, or if you could just post here what it is that would be great.

Oh...and did the Shadevari use weapons at all in the books? I was thinking of replacing the Simple Weapon Proficiency Feat you have there if they didn't use them in the books.

You've been great help!

No dual nature means that they do not have a soul and a body like humans do, it's common to outsiders. They did not use weapons, but I used etools and it gives that to outsiders (it didn't cost a feat).

Thanks again Xysma!

I could never think of a suitable creature for something I'm writing currently...the Shadevari are a perfect match for my need...and thanks for writing them out.
