In the midst of the news reports of the carnage in Pakistan, I saw this interesting bit of news, which I can't think of where else to place but here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/7046746.stm.
The gist of it is that African elephants can recognize the likelihood that a human is a predator by clothes! They quickly move away from someone wearing clothing formerly worn by a member of the Masai tribe (elephant hunters) but continue their normal routine around people wearing clothes from a neighboring tribe which doesn't hunt elephants. They also don't respond well to red clothing, which the Masai tend to favor. The article gives new meaning to the "Scent" ability possessed by some animals and "monsters," and also demonstrates just what the Wisdom score of an animal may actually mean in a game setting.

At best I suspect a mod will travel here and delete the thread because Real World and no way Realm related. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." Or it could be moved to D&D Core. It is kinda interesting and Core-related. |
