Ed has just announced today that he's working with Eric Menge to release 4 new books on the DM's Guild next year that will go on a deep dive into the 16th century Dalelands, expanding upon the new lore just dropped in the recent Adventures and Heroes books.

The first book will detail the Dales themselves, the second will focus on the inns & taverns, the third on dungeons & adventure sites, and the fourth on actual pre-written adventures.

When life turns it's back on you...sneak attack for extra damage.

Ed and the sages had a discussion about whether to use Volo in our new books. We thought it best to bring in a new generation of narrators for the new products, as Volo has been used quite a bit. This also means we can have a different voice for each region.

Will the sleepy, parochial and folksy Dales become a curiously contemporary metropolis? It is possible. In any case, this being the latest edition of D&D, expect Tieflings and Dragonborn (plus, every other manner of technicolor freak) under each and every stone.

Stand with anybody that stands right. Stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.

Earth names in the Realms are more common than you may think.

Well each of the Dales has their own character. There's plenty of sleepy, parochial, folksy Dales to inhabit and explore. A couple of the Dales are more social facing (They were listed as Trading Dales in Rich Baker's 1993 The Dalelands.) You'll find tieflings and a few dragonborn there. Most of the dales are humans and elves. No metropolises. The largest we have are towns.
